I gotta agree with Spitz in the sense that if everyone is considering it such a huge milestone to break, which it will be, then why can't anyone extend the courtesy of inviting him to go? True, it's the Olympics, but just expecting him to go because of Micheal Phelps and what he may accomplish is a little sub-par in my opinion.

I am not pleased with how they have cheaters in the olympic games. We are exposed to cheaters everyday and scoolbubba expounds upon my point about comparing the two events. I really don't think you can compare barry bonds and the MLB to Phelps and the Olympic Games.


And the fact that the kids are younger makes the events easier for them. Case and point a kid can take his or her foot and touch her nose with it or do other really flexible movements. A 16 year old as was said is a larger person which makes the events more difficult for them.

Spitz also says he could have won 8 gold medals if given the chance. "I won seven events. If they had the 50m freestyle back then, which they do now, I probably would have won that too," he said. And Spitz thinks Phelps will succeed, "he's almost identical to me.

Anyone here witnessing how the judges are SCREWING the US?

Interesting how the Chinese girls put up the SAME routine and get higher marks. I'm just sayin' I root hard for USA in everything, no matter how...feminine.

Yeah well thats the plus of having the home field advantage. No ref or judge wants to piss off the hometown crowd. Besides kids under 16 need more of a confidence boost then the girls that are of legal age to participate in the games :icon_wink

Did you see the Costas interview? He asked him about his facebook friends, and Phelps replied with I think it was, "Ain't that some S**t" Of course NBC did not bleep it like I did.
