POTUS at Commissioning

She may be democratically elected as a representative of California, but that does not mean she is a democratically elected Speaker of the House.

The House elects their speaker, meaning the Representatives from all the states, numbering 435 or so.

Thank you all for your advice. I've decided to pursue the opportunity, and if it comes about, great, and if it doesn't then I won't exactly be crushed. For what it's worth, my original plan was to ask a long time friend who is a West Point grad, Ranger and combat vet to do the honors. He thinks that I should pursue the possibility of Obama commissioning me also.

After reading the replies, I thought I should add that Obama did not offer, or notify me that he would commission me, so I wouldn't be making any type of statement. Apparently I have some ridiculously well connected family members who told me they can make it happen. For all I know though, the President may have plans to be in another country or something on my commissioning date.
