Tiderunner if you want to finish faster go to whiting. For me i'm in no hurry. Moody and Vance i have no idea but i wouldnt want the Air Force style of training. i know a buddy of mine that started API about the same time i did finish api and primary in 8 months and is now in Advanced (went to Whiting). its all up to you and your motivation. but as is often the case it may change according to season.
Don't anybody listen to Fatboy. Corpus is a really nice city compared to many places in America, and that's not just my opinion. My wife has lived all over the place: California, New Mexico, Colorado, Maryland, New York, Massachussetts, and been all over the world too. If she likes it here, that says something. Well, we do have a kick-ass apartment - that always helps.
To me, Pensacola felt like a third-world country. I should know, I spent a week in the Amazon region of Peru, and I felt more comfortable there than I ever did in P-Cola. The people were more friendly and it smelled better. As for crime, what does it matter? Just carry a freakin' .45 and don't talk **** to anybody. And don't leave anything of value in the car, ha ha!
Another thing. The Baptists here are nicer. In Pensacola they'd stand outside Seville with their bibles and yell at the bargoers, but here they actually come into the bar, drink iced tea, and act friendly. That's Texas for you.

Hate to burst your "tax free" bubble, but I believe that Bahrain is no longer tax free. Based off of crews returning from there complaining about it. Hopefully that is just a nasty rumor...
I vote for Primary in CC and then returning to Whiting for Helos. I though both places had their upsides. CC isn't wall-to-wall squids, the nightlife ain't bad (at least it wasn't in '97), and it's a change of scenery (esp. if you're going to be a helo bubba). P-cola has a better beach scene and is more Navy-friendly. One of the best things about the military is getting to move around and see different places, so take advantage while you're single and carefree. Besides, if you want towns that blow, try Kingsville or Meridian. Especially Meridian...the freakin' Howard Johnson's is the most happening nightspot for 2 hours in any direction.
