I'm getting impatient waiting on this final select as well.... it really hasn't been that long. I want to turn over all of collateral duties; seemingly they wont have in impact on my performance at OCS and as a commissioned officer.....With that being said my Chief told me that I didn't have to participate in my uniform inspection last week. I felt a little like a BOSS!!!!!

Just rambling on while I wait in purgatory with you all.

It is funny being active duty with a Pro-rec Y. I am still an AO2, but people are starting to call me sir and crack jokes about me hanging out with the enlisted guys. I am still expected to do my job, but when it's time to choose someone to do some dirty work I'm not even considered. Feels pretty good. Now I am just terrified something will happen to disqualify me medically and I will have to face all these people for years as an AO2 or AO1 when I had been being referred to as Ensign Select. Can't wait for that letter.

My recruiter told me the other day that it's looking like it'll be anywhere between 1-4 months for the FINSEL. However, when I first got Pro-Rec Y, he told me that the way they've been operating lately that he believe it will be closer to a month.

Same here after my CO and XO came to congratulate me on my ProRec-Y. They both as well as I know its not the final step but it was a large one in deed. I have the same feeling daily. We will get through this phase though and on to the next; at times regretting the decision we've made. Eventually on to being the souls that can spark an idea, make a suggestion, implement the change and hopefully see that its for the better. Humility will be detrimental throughout this process.

My living motto:
Try something for a month. If that doesn't work try it for a day. If you still fall short try it for a minute.... anybody can do anything for a minute.

I'm excited to have gotten selected for this board. Have any of you been given any more info within the last few days as far as FINSEL? My recruiter hasn't given me much to work with.

I've been PRO-Y since December and still haven't gotten my FINSEL. Congrats to all who were accepted!

Shoot, thats a bummer man. Crazy how the FINSEL process varies so widely from person to person.

Is your recruiter sharing any insight on any causes for the delay?

The delay is with NRC. No specifics other than it is still pending. My clearance and medical all came back fine a few months back. Not sure what the delay is. I've got enough keeping me busy right now. Trying to enjoy the last few months with the family and memorize gauge. Also, caught a bit of runners knee so I've been nursing it back to health. Ready to go though that's for sure.
