I put in a request chit to do one at Lemoore NAS. I had to do aircrew screening anyway, so I asked command about doing the long form and drove out to Lemoore. I had to do it at cost.

As AD you should have not been sent to MEPS, your OR didn't do you any favors, this and your other issue make me wonder if he knows what he is doing.

Is it maybe because I live near St.Louis and there are no Navy bases near by?
Wouldn't you have already gone to MEPS before entering enlisted service?

The "officer first" mentality should be upheld. This baloney of being sent home from OCS ties in with the nonsense of not respecting third option designators. Yea for bureau-crazy!!! My company found out that I was applying to be a Naval Officer and thus asked me to resign. So, I moved my family to another city (now I am a logger) - to live with family - to wait on the selection board. I don't have to be a Pilot or NFO, I just want to be a Navy Officer.

Sounds like a great company, probably violated federal law while being assholes to boot.

Had to submit an DD370 to HR for proof of employment for my Navy Officer application. Yeah...pretty uncool of them.

You were screwed by your OR/NRD, the DD370 for the current job is NOT REQUIRED for this specific reason.
In addition I am fairly certain that what your company did is in violation of federal law, however since they asked you to resign you probably have no case as they didn't tell you that you were being terminated.

and if I didn't comply they might have terminated me thus staining my employment record for the navy...so I just quit. I didn't want the Navy to ask, "you just got fired from your job and now you are applying to be a naval officer?" But your right, I have no case because I am the one who "quit". Praying for a miracle that I get selected. If not, I will retake the ASTB and reapply for NFO/SWO or go active duty enlisted. I have my enlisted recruiter on speed dial.

Honestly, if I were you I would consider calling the USERRA folks just to let them know about the company at the very least. Even if you quit giving you an either/or choice is still blatantly illegal.

What are people usually NPQ'd for after OCS? Is it mainly a pilot thing or should the rest of us be worried? I can't imagine going through everything just to get booted out the door at the last minute, if not for your career for your mental sanity.
@Oneil - that's pretty brutal, although I haven't told my current employer for fear of the same thing (a DD370 was not required in my application). I have a tentative OCS date of April, which is way out, so I theoretically still have a few good months of work left. I am just waiting for the awkward moment when my clearance investigator calls my boss to verify that I work there...
