Rolling Boards/ June 2013 Board

Makes sense 8-10 year commitment can be scary for some.

It's not that bad, compared to the Air Force 10 years after winging in a rated job, your placing in at least 12 years with the Air Force. Yes it adds to about 10 for a fixed wing guy, but those years go by faster in the Navy IMO.

FY13 is in the books, if a person doesn't have a FS letter now (unless the NRD has notified someone) it is remote a person would make it into the June 23rd class.

OffRec, what essentially happens if the Navy does not meet projected officer accessions for a given FY? Does it tack on to the next FY?

FS SNFO OCS
This came up last week when I was talking to a friend at my old NRD, it isn't so much people getting turned down at OCS but those declining after being selected (large number) and those declining after being selected who are found NPQ for aviation by N3M.

Thank you for the clarification, Sir. That's crazy how people turn an opportunity down like this... But I guess in some circumstances it's just not made for everyone.

Well, the supply board was today...that was on my list and I'm just as excited to get those results. Last I heard my package was at the Supply board so it will get looked at...if anyone hears anything let me know!.....fingers crossed :D
How long do you think we have to wait for the results? do you know if its like waiting for the advancement results when you take the PO test (2-3 Months)?

I highly doubt and im glad its not, as long as the wait for PO advancements to be released. Most people seem to agree it may take a week to ten days for it to filter down in general. Although, the results for the March 4th NFA/NFO board came out on....March 4th....lol all we can do is wait and hope it wont be long!

Im a prior AT2,and now I work for Northrop Grumman at NAS Fallon on the tactical training range. Basically I operate radar systems to train Top Gun and squadron pilots before deployments. So everyday I watch them doing what I wanna do...its torturous!

NFO is my first...although my intent is to be a Naval officer...so being selected for supply would be awesome :D and then i would only be waiting to see if I have a choice rather than IF Ill be selected at all...my degree compliments supply and my professional and Navy experience leans toward NFO...either way id be stoked!

Squid with the current demand for SNA you'll get a shot at pilot, just get your PRK done after you commission.

NavySquid, I too have supply as an option, but haven't heard anything yet on that. However I am also waiting on the July 15th SNA/SNFO board as well, so I'm not sure how that plays into the process. Do you know whether they wait until all your applicable boards are done before a decision goes out?

Paperwork in yes... Approved yet for screening, we'll find out. I'm more anxious about the board's decision. They have copies of that guide at the NORS, it's in a waterproof packet too.

Alex, as far as I have been told I will have the choice. I know there is at least one member of these forums who was not given the choice....I have a funny feeling his recruiter or NRC assumed that NFA is what he wanted and sent him an FS letter in order to quickly fill OCS slots for FY13. Just my thoughts on that....also, my recruiter has his S*#T together and has been on top of everything so far, and he told me that best case scenario I would get selected for all 3 of my choices and have the option...honestly though, I would only be a little disappointed to not have the choice if I was selected supply. The LCDR who interviewed me said that Supply is the place to be....

I figured as much, although I just stumbled onto it and wanted to make sure everyone had a chance to see it...
