I was given the choice between pilot and NFO.

I am still waiting on the FS with the date.

GSpirate have you heard anything on how long it takes to get one?

I honestly don't have a clue... Although I did hear today that those who were selected at the last boards, are having their letters signed and sent out later this week. This is however, another rumor, and it is UNCONFIRMED.

My luck is ill get my FS when I'm down in Orlando next week chillin with Mickey and the family lol

Alex, as far as I have been told I will have the choice. I know there is at least one member of these forums who was not given the choice....I have a funny feeling his recruiter or NRC assumed that NFA is what he wanted and sent him an FS letter in order to quickly fill OCS slots for FY13. Just my thoughts on that....also, my recruiter has his S*#T together and has been on top of everything so far, and he told me that best case scenario I would get selected for all 3 of my choices and have the option...honestly though, I would only be a little disappointed to not have the choice if I was selected supply. The LCDR who interviewed me said that Supply is the place to be....

A person is is automatically processed for the highest choice they have been selected for unless the applicant says other wise, for instance, if a person had put three choices and those boards met within a reasonable time then if the board for choice #3 met, the application would be held until the other 2 boards have met, now if choice 1 meets first and you are selected then NRC will process you for that designator and pull you from the other 2 boards.

The exception is Pilot/NFO/SWO as that board normally meets at the same time.

That makes perfect sense and is how I would have guessed it worked. My choices just happen to go to board in reverse order so I should have a choice if selected for multiple designators. Thanks for the clarification...there has been alot of bavk and fourth on that issue...

Yea that would be a great time to get the letter. My processor told me to wait to get my letter before I go on vacation.

I hope that rumor is true since lately we have all had good luck with the rumors.

Thank you NavyOffRec for the clarification, that answers the question. I have SNA/SNFO/Supply in that order, and supply met Monday.

Found out today my FS is receiving final signatures and will be expected to be sent sometime next week. I have been designated as NFO, which I am completely happy with! I am however going to try to redesignate following OCS, as this is what I hear happens to some people from time to time who want a shot at Aviator. If I don't get it, I am very happy to be where I am now, serving as an Officer in the greatest Navy in the world!

Expected ship date: September 15. Ready to Rock n' Roll!!

Congrats. Except your not an Officer yet. Proof you gotta put what you want as your first choice. Thought you said you got to choose.

Congratulations Pirate! What happened, I thought you were pro-recd for SNA already, not that SNFO is bad at all.

Spenz, I get that. (POTENTIALLY, serving as an officer.) Sorry for the misunderstanding. Nothing in my last post stated that I was an officer, I only said I am happy with what has been given to me. And it's not "proof" of what you want first. Others have stated on here that they have been given a choice. Unfortunately for me, my situation was different somehow. But in the long run, I'm very honored to have this opportunity.
