Great memories as a young kid watching this with my dad. Their hair was a little long and they all were way too clean shaven. And the whole M2 against a tank?
I watch Rat Patrol and Combat! one after the other once a week. Fun.

So, asking “for a friend” as they say..

Has anyone on the forum made the Navy to Army aviation transition, specifically assessing for 160th SOAR? Please feel free to reach out via DM, but I know a small subset of Navy/ Marine aviators have successfully crossed over in the past.
I appreciate the impressive thread-jack, but in support of someone finding this thread with the same question: This is definitely possible.

Not sure if you got your answer back at the time of posting. The devil’s in the details, and it isn’t for everyone. That said the pathway definitely exists for the right candidates.

If you don’t have a connection to a prior service pilot at the Regiment, you can reach out to the recruiting office.

Given that we have Navy H-60 pilots make the ITS USAF U-2, you would have to think it's a. Possible and b. A pathway exists.

I’ve seen a surprising number of posts after a quick search that say that you need to already be active/reserve/guard Army, or that the Regiment does not take any inter-service pilots.

If you’re USN/USMC and you want to be in the Regiment you can either play the 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon game to get connected to a gold wing guy in the Regiment, or you can just reach out to the recruitment office.

Don’t let interweb gouge be the reason you didn’t pursue something that you want.

I knew a 53 dude that got selected after FOS to O-4. (Cool story JTS...just an anecdote to back up your post. This was around 15 yrs ago)
