Men and women have different PRT standards. You can google them to better understand.

Yeah, I found those before. A 10:00 run would be 'Outstanding High' for a woman, but 'Excellent High' for a man. I just wasn't sure if the different standards was established for simply for successful PRTs, or if it affected class ranking.

They'd probably go to your test scores before they go to your PT scores, tbh

What are the parameters when evaluating class ranking? Is it just academia and PT? Or do things like RLP and drill play into it? If PT affects class ranking, does one's gender matter? For example, a man and a woman (both aged 25) finish their PRT-out run at 10:00. Would that time have a more positive impact for the woman, or is it received the same for both candidates?

From what I've been told, a higher class ranking is good for SWO candidates since they have some what of a say in where their home port will be.

OCS staff are good at letting the SWOs decide amongst themselves who goes where. Our class was able to work out orders without having to dive into any tiebreakers like this. The 9 SWOs got a list of 10 ships to choose from. They mutually agreed to let people with dependents get first dibs, and then everyone else, with minimal conflict, was able to come to terms and make a decision. Usually the tiebreakers come into play when two people won't budge, and then the class team gets to decide for you.

That's good that the candidates can work together to try and appease everyone. I have no dependents and I'm from the midwest, so I'll be far from home no matter where I go. It'd just be nice to go somewhere that sounds appealing if the opportunity presents itself. For any people conflicting over the same spot, was the decision made based of performance, or personality? Would the team rather see someone with a better attitude and perseverance get the desired location, or are they more likely to focus on how well a candidate is performing academically and with PRT?

I am looking forward to living coastal for awhile. Will be a nice change from living land locked my entire life. I'm more interested in being overseas. Either way, if I can make it in as a SWO, I'll be all over the place anyways. How's that saying go? You get what you get and you don't throw a fit?

I'm the same way, being from Wisconsin. You might get lucky and grab an overseas billet right off the bat. We had 1 Japan slot, and a San Diego that was soon changing home ports to Japan.

That would be nice. I love the idea of Spain but I'm not going to hold my breath. I feel like an overseas billet would be fought over very easily. Or that could just me projecting my own desires.
