1. thanks for that note, less to deal with anyways, haha. I'd prob. cut it before and get used to it a little before hand.

2. haha I'm not really "worried" about it nor does it really concern me, I just happen to be doing my own laundry and reading about OCS and it just popped in my head, lol

3. haha, well bring it on :)

4. hrm, I might start trying to sleep in the push up position haha, or just make a note to add them to the end of any workout or before bed or something... and I def. wouldn't expect to get treated any different, just physically I wouldn't expect a female to do as many push ups as a male can

5. I get to stand there wrapped in my towel? i don't have an issue with people in the buff, and any awkwardness i'm sure goes away, but just don't like being cold, lol

Thanks for the info!

2. This should be the last of your worries. If this is really bugging you OCS is going to be very difficult. We always had a laundry body that organized doing laundry for every one a couple times a week at night. It sucked to get laundry duty cause you would get little to no sleep that night. Your uniforms WILL get stains... Daily. You will be PT'ed in them every day. Many times outside in the goose shit covered grass. You wear working khakis until you're a candi-o, so chances are if you are a SWO you wont ever wear them after OCS.
Horrible way to do it, IMO. Gets everyone's crap mixed up, and invariably leads to super-wrinkled uniforms from over-loading the washers. Honestly, you do your laundry whenever you can find a free washer/dryer. You should do it at least once a week. Sometimes that entails staying up later than normal.

All your uniforms except for your SDBs and Chokers are machine-washable. You will not wear SDBs/Chokers until at least formal dinner if you have one, and then not again until graduation.

If you get stains in your uniforms, you do your best to get them out with a tide pen or whatever else you have available to you. Stains on your wash khakis isn't the worst thing in the world; that's what they're for. Most people make it through OCS without getting stains on their uniforms.

After indoc, the DIs/CPOs/Class officers do not go into the student heads. No one is going to stop you from wearing a towel in the bathroom.

hahaha thats funny
Question. Do you show up looking nice on the first day? Heels and all that jazz or should you be in gym shoes and jeans etc? I wasn't sure what is appropriate. Thanks

Show up in heels and a miniskirt. THAT would be hilarious.

Honestly, Jeans/Tshirt worked for me. Wear running shoes unless things have changed drastically in Newport over Pensacola.

All the guys show up in heels and a nice sun dress. I wouldn't know what is appropriate for the ladies though.

jeans/tshirt or polo

females who wear something ... revealing ... or otherwise showing off various features will get extra attention.

you won't be wearing civilian clothes for long, you get your poopies real quick.

you pretty much gotta show up in running shoes, if not you make everyone's life difficult.

does it matter what type of shoe polish you buy? The liquid stuff versus the paste kind. Should I bring a brush for my shoes? thanks

SWO? What is this "SWO" you speak of?
I have searched here but couldnt find an answer to my question. I read lots of threads about old broken bones and going to OCS, but what happens if you break one while IN OCS? For instance, you break your wrist, get rolled (I'm guessing...) and then...? Do you stay and heal there or what? Thanks for answering my stupid OCS question!

While I was there, serious injurys would stay in H for a rediculous amount of time and then go back to join a class when you had rehabed. It was a truly miserable experience for those guys and alot of them ended up DOR'ing after a while. I saw several stay for almost 6 months. Before I left I heard Master Guns was trying to institute a system where those people would be sent home and have to reapply, but their application would generally be accepted. I don't know if anything ever came of that, but it would definitely be better...

Wow, tough break for them... pun intended. Thanks though, I'll try not to break anything.
