Go back in this thread to earlier pages. You'll find the At-Board list. If your name is not there, but your packet was submitted on time, you were likely rolled.

In any case, you need to make sure your OR is getting you into the next SWO board early to ensure you're at board.

The selection rate for the 12APR21 seemed much higher considering the amount of applications. There were 267 applicants, and 60% received Y; The 22FEB21 board had 131 applicants, with 41% receiving a Y. I know these are dumb questions @exNavyOffRec, but I’m interested in hearing your insight or speculation on this. Does this mean that SWO retention is/has been decreasing? Are future boards going to have a high selection rate like this?

Always keep up with these boards. You're going to get information much faster here than from your OR.

I heard here about my SWO Pro-Rec-Y and my Intel Pro-Rec-N before my OR could even notify me. Hell, I'm the one who told my OR that I had been Pro-Rec-N for Intel and that I wanted to move forward with SWO.

That being said, if you believe you're up for a board, keep an eye out for At-Board lists. If you're not on it, that's the minute you should be calling your OR to see what happened.

You’d think that right? But then a new program authorization comes out, decreasing the max age to apply, raising the min GPA, and putting a restriction regarding prior service time......who knows? Lol

What would be the minimum OAR I should apply to the SWO board with? I'm taking my first try on the OAR tomorrow (5/7) and am pretty nervous. Also I am 22 years old.

Purely speculation, but it probably has more to do with an inability to fill classes last year. Since ever u thing was cut in half, im sure there were changes to allocations

with the amount of apps the board sees every time for SWO, doubt they will go that deep into your LORs, 4 is overkill.

My recruiter suggested three so i asked more people just to cover all my bases, and they pulled through for me. I know to shoot for a 50 on the OAR for a good chance but i do see people being picked up for scores between 45-50? Also from what I've seen, is the next board date in AUG?

I was Pro-Rec'd on my first go. I took the OAR with about 48 hours notice. Was contacted by my OR on a Monday at 10am saying I needed to take the OAR and was in the recruiting office on Wednesday at 9am taking the exam. The most I did to prepare for it was watch a YouTube video about what's included on the exam and maybe 40-50 practice OAR-style questions I found on some website. So don't be too nervous. You should do well.

All in all, as long as you can get the required minimum OAR score for SWO, the rest of your packet will be doing the talking at board.

Keep in mind that some people picked up on the lower end have other things that may set them apart. You only see raw scores, not what the rest of the kit has to offer.

Exactly. It's never just about an OAR or GPA or degree. It's always about the complete package. What do you, as an individual, have to offer the Navy as an officer. Not what your score on some test was.

I got rolled from the board with a 41% selection rate and rejected by the board that had a 60% selection rate. Don't know whether to be mad or disappointed.

Probably a stupid question, but if the OCS date is FY22, does this mean the class up date wont be until after October?

You need to pick 3 of them to include in your packet. They should be the 3 strongest letters of the people who have known you the longest, have worked with you the closest, and will be able to give a complete assessment on your capabilities. Not some random O-5 or O-6 you met to get a LOR.
