I'm hoping that I didn't get overpaid. If tk got $4000 for 4000 lbs and I got $1850 for 3500 lbs, then maybe I didn't get overpaid. I did only move my stuff 270 miles though. I'll just pay off bills with the money and start putting more away in savings incase they need money back. You'd think that with as many people that look at copies of your orders during the moving process, someone would catch an error like this.

You can actually calculate, roughly, how much you should get paid. If you know the weight you moved, get the distance from the "Table o' distances", find out the current govt rate of lb/mi and then do the math.

There is also a "small load rate multiplier" for loads under a certain weight.

I know I was under that limit with 3400# from JAX to Corpus.

Basically, they paid me for 1.5 times the weight I had. Not sure what the cutoff is and if there is a sliding scale on it.

yea I have the original 2278 which authorized me for 10k pounds, all be it in hindsight an error.... so now NAVTRANS HHG wants me to fill out some change of naval record, to absolve the debt, and rewrite my orders.... I'm just a stupid ensign, so I'm now working with the ADC on this one, I'll let you know how it all turns out, because after careful review the JTFR doesnt address situations of error on behalf of the govenment, go figure.

Also, just for the record on this one... my original orders came out with NAS Pensacola, as the Perm Duty Station and "Ultimate Activity" for temduinst

on the order mod I got leaving API, it then listed it as an intermediate activity....

To update on a few things here: I was able to make a reservation at the BOQ at Pensacola. They're not full, but they did recommend that I make a reservation today rather than wait to figure out anything else.

At $27/night or $810/month it's pretty pricey, but I figure I'll save a few dollars a day on gas, etc, and I can keep an eye on craigslist et al for a monthly rental that might pop up. Anyone know if they've got internet at the Q?

And the $810 sounded pretty bad until I called PSD and confirmed that I am going to keep my Boston BAH until I get to Whiting. So that's pretty sweet. Not as cool as per diem, though.

I dont know who you were talking to in PSD but... when I moved there.. I got Pensacola BAH, but I don't know how it works living in the Q... I would still recommend getting a place off base for the social aspect, nothing like tieing one on and getting stopped at the gate (in the passenger seat of course)

A little update to my Saga of Dityin. I talked to the HHG Audit people and aparently the move out of Pensacola was supposed to be a full PCS, which means I am now authorized to go back and get the rest of my stuff, submit the additional weight tickets and reciepts, and it will be added to my second move claim which should cover the overages, and my costs. If anything, its a good thing I kept all the paper work!

The only stink of it is I have to take 5 days of leave to do it, not that I would rather do something else with those 5 days of course. But to make my paychecks reappear 5 days well spent.
