Females and Tattoos

Is it more difficult for a female officer candidate to get a tattoo waiver for ink on the ankle? I'm wondering because females wear skirts.

Thank you.

Guess you guys are all done talkin about it. But the real reason they want the info about your tatoo is for body part identification. Sometimes all the pieces are not there and the only thing identifiable is your tat. Crowbars last entry was the final word I would say. I was stationed with a guy who had F@#$ You tatoo'd on the bottom of his right hand. And for those of you who have saluted enough know what that means, He was givin the option of getting it removed or being discharged. Semper Fi

Oh yeh forgot one thing about the religous or identifiable tatt's. Every time I was scheduled to fly into a hot zone I had to go in sterile.

You can get one wherever you want, I don't care it's your body, but if you want to fly jet's, you're going to need to get it taken off before your flight physical.

I'mma go with WTF on that one. I have a tat, so what are my chances? Zing!

I have a question you all might be able to answer....

I get commissioned in 2 weeks and then will probably be reporting to Alpha Co this November. Don't have paper orders yet but my OSO says it's almost certain I'm going to Alpha (and yes, I'm aware of the dangers of thinking in terms of "my OSO says"). I haven't gotten any new tattoos since I got into the PLC program over 3 years ago. At that time my OSO told me not to get any more tattoos until I get my commission. Now I'm wondering whether it'll be a bad idea to get one before I ship to TBS. It would be a tattoo of my family crest on my shoulder. Definitely not offensive or anything that would cause me to catch sh!t at SERE, etc. Nor would it be visible in PT gear. Basically what I'm wondering is whether they have a tattoo screening at TBS, and whether any of you know of anyone who has caught flak for tattoos done between commissioning and reporting to TBS.

They won't didn't seem to give a rats you know what about tattoo's. About 1/4 my platoon got them at TBS.

The only time I've ever seen anyone get shat upon for tattoos since I've been in was when they were extreme in number or offensive in nature.

Tattoo before TBS

I know this subject has been discussed before, but i couldn't get my question answered when i searched.

I have completed the 10 week PLC course and i graduate in april with my degree.

Question: Is there going to be a problem if i get a EGA tattoo on my left shoulder (high enough so that it can't be seen in PT gear) with writing encircling it (USMC..1775...semper fi) before i go to TBS?

Thanks.
