If you've already gotten a tattoo, ask your OSO and/or look at the Navy/MC reg as applicable?

If you haven't, do what you want, just show a little common sense. Don't try to figure out the outer edge here. Make sure it's inconspicuous, not offensive, etc. If you have to ask, then that should tell you something.

In any case, realize that if you have one and people can see it, that others may not like it. Whether or not they should care is a theoretical discussion. Some will. Some of those people may be your superiors. If you want to piss into a headwind, then go right ahead. Just be warned that you might end up covered in piss.

If it helps clear up anything.....I just got pro-rec'd for SNA and I have 3 tattoos one that peeks out the bottom of a short sleeve shirt. No one seemed to give two sh!*s...Just read the regs and make sure you, the recruiter and the screener understands the verbage.
