Tattoos: Getting, not removing.

Since we're cankles deep in tat-toolery, here's an interesting .

It's a tattoo commercial that is presented as being anti-tattoo...not particularly relevant to this discussion, as these folks are just a shade out of regs, but it's amazing what's out there.

What's amazing* is how many of the baby-daddies in 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom are well on their way to this level of "art." There was even a dude with those ginormous ear plug things and a face full of studs who wanted to go into the Air Force to support his sperm donation. Needless to say, that didn't happen.

*What's even more amazing is that I've actually seen 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom. FML.

I agree with the OP. A tattoo on an individual doesn't necessarily reflect on their professionalism. I had one going into OCS, disclosed it and it wasn't a problem for me. I got a second one after finishing TBS and only disclosed it to my S-2 department in case they need to identify me for a certain reason in theater. O yeh and it got me a little more extra attention during SERE. Other than that it hasn't been a problem for me because they don't show in my flight suit as well PT gear.

The Marine Corps' rules have definately gotten stricter, but if you stick to the rule about not being seen in PT gear, you will be just fine.

Nice try heading that one off at the pass.

However, you've still made an admission to consuming in reality TV, which has now lowered yourself a peg or two in my sight.

For shame.

For shame.

I remember a time when MTV played music videos, Sonny. "And oh, by the way" (to put it in WTI-speak), your opinion of me means Jack and Shit.

Those shows are hilarious, in that they depict the trainwrecks that some people's lives become. If I had made the same terrible errors in judgment those idiots have, they could be my daughters right now.

Ever check out KYXY 96.5 on the weekends in SD? Good shit from our era...

When I was in SD, KYXY was the easy-listening station....

And to bring it back on-topic (sort of...), tattoos used to be a sign if rebelliousness. Now they are a sign of conformity. When the current crop of twenty-somethings are running the big corporations, you will be looked at suspiciously and denied employment for NOT having a tat.
