Quick question: I am slotted to go to OCS in early March, and I just remembered a root canal and capping procedure done about 10 years ago. What should be my corrective action here - just bring the documents with me to OCS and tell them this, or should I do something now with my OR?
I bet they will take a close look at it. Hard to say anything until the exam. Thanks Doc! Feel bad asking two in a row, but completely unrelated: what about Lordosis, aka "sway back" with forward pelvic tilt. I have no pain and have not been diagnosed by an MD, but a family friend who is a chiropractor did some x-rays and said that I have mild forms of each. Since I am over 25, when they do xrays for flight physical, will either of these pose a problem for me?
Keep the PFT/MC results with you; I think you will be ok without further testing. Even if you do have to re-test again, well, it beats getting booted out of the program. To all the Docs out there,
Finally received my FS letter and am preparing for OCS. Along with that comes doubts and worries. I had childhood asthma as a kid. Passed a PFT and also the dreaded methacholine challenge (4% variation, I believe the regs allow for up to 20%)
That being said, should I be prepared to redo these tests during my flight physical on the Monday of arrival at Newport or will my paperwork suffice? Also, my asthma was prior to age 10 but my medical file did show that a sports physician prescribed an inhaler for me when I was 15/16 for emergencies. Am I worried when I really shouldn't be if I have taken all the proper tests?
Thanks for an info!
Definitely beats having to be forced out. Thanks for the knowledge! I'll be sure to have copies of all test resultsKeep the PFT/MC results with you; I think you will be ok without further testing. Even if you do have to re-test again, well, it beats getting booted out of the program.
Any dippers out there? How will this effect a flight physical? I've recently switched to Swedish Snus which, studies show, has not been proven to cause oral cancer.
