I had to do a double take. At first I thought “wow that’s low”

TOPGUN F-14A at Nellis
Wait a minute...I can see the string holding up the model in that picture! We got lots of low passes at Fallon but some of the lowest could be a little incriminating. Here’s one that’s fit to print

Spent 6 months in RR for a P-3 deployment. That place is awesome.100%. The same people wanting to bring back Rosey Roads also expressed that same opinion. They largely blamed themselves for their shortsightedness.
I drove my Jeep from NUW to NFL for Air Wing Fallon, and was out Jeeping with some buddies on an off day. It turned out our Marine Hornet squadron was dropping live ordnance on B-17 at the same time. We saw the jets in the pattern, and pulled over on Highway 50 just in time to see the first Mk-82 go off. After all the "ooh, ahh, wow, cool," our AF transplant (Bone guy) says words to the effect of "wow, that was incredible . . . that was a once-in-a-lifetime chance to get to see that."Best one I've ever seen was actually in a video that VF-43 did in the early '90's. Couple of their guys went and stood by a highway sign on US 50 where it cuts across the range. Sign reads, "CAUTION: LOW FLYING AIRCRAFT". From behind them comes one of their F-16's at about 20' and passes directly over their heads doing about 450 KIAS.
Great opportunity to take your troopers out to the range to watch that stuff during AWF, and for the ATs to see some of the radar systems that their Q-99 pods crush. Taking them to Middlegate Station for the burger challenge is a nice way to wrap up the day.I drove my Jeep from NUW to NFL for Air Wing Fallon, and was out Jeeping with some buddies on an off day. Like 2 seconds later, the second Mk-82 goes POOM.
Other sea story for that same Jeeping trip . . . Navy compadre was known for eating anything and everything in sight without gaining a pound. This guy's appetite was really unreal. He decided to come along after already having eaten lunch . . . and still went for the Middlegate challenge. I was halfway thinking he might actually pull it off.Taking them to Middlegate Station for the burger challenge is a nice way to wrap up the day.
