One of the prettier airplanes the Brits ever built, in any engine configuration.The first turboprop-powered aircraft flew in September of 1945. Rolls-Royce fitted a Gloster Meteor with twin Trent RB.50 750 shp engines for test purposes. I suspect the performance was not awe-inspiring.

That’s old NAS Alameda. You can see the seaplane ramps in the background.Also, is this stop/final landing at Alameda? I am not super smart on Bay Area geography, but that doesnt look like Moffett to me, given the abeam positioning with the city
Is this the same bird that has been slowly making its last rounds about (see what i did there?) vancouver island/BC over the summer/fall? Or was that another water bomber retirement? I feel like some of our TPS guys flew this thing off lake mead or something, is that right?
