That pic kind of looks like LZ X-ray at Ia Drang Valley.

Old pictures.

A few of you have posted some older pictures. Soooo, here’s one for you. It’s not naval aviation, but it is still Navy. Guess who this is?:)

What a way to exercise!

I almost slept with that damned thing. Pushed it around LOTS; 96 count manual at arms. I was getting my leggings at the time this photo was taken.

We broke so many stocks while drilling that Springfield almost had to re-open the production line ... :)
... silent drill -- big time competitions -- kinda neat stuff, actually -- like in the opening scene of "Few Good Men".

/Pix of the day threadjack .... yeah, right.

Just a quick reply to the first photo in this thread.

1) There are only (2) 5 wet Rhinos (1 mission tanker, 1 recovery tanker). 201 is actually a Sharp Bird. It's load out is double bubble, sharp pod, atflir, gbu 51 and a gbu 38.

2) The tanker with his hook up is (was) the recovery tanker. His hook will stay up as he colapses the stack. Kinda hard to put out the hose with your hook down. Anyway, the recovery tanker follows down the last tankable and can have his hook up until the 90 (depending on the last tankable trapping).

These jets just came together for a quick photo op. And normally we dont fly in parade in the stack.
