090622-N-0000X-001 ARABIAN SEA (June 22, 2009) Chief petty officers assigned to Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 7 carry the casket of Command Master Chief Jeffrey J. Garber during a departure ceremony aboard the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69). Garber, CVW-7 command master chief, died June 20 of apparent natural causes while deployed aboard the aircraft carrier. He was 43. The Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility supporting operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom as well as maritime security operations. Bourne watches an MH-53E Sea Dragon helicopter attempt a second landing after failing to correctly land the first time aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Denver (LPD 9). Denver is underway to Australia to participate in Talisman Saber 2009. Talisman Saber is one of Australia's largest multilateral military exercises. Held biannually with forces from Australia and the U.S., the exercise focuses on crisis-action planning and contingency response, enhancing both nations' military capabilities. Waking Up the Shoes!!!!
I Need some help. This was originally posted on page 6 of the picture gallery by schnugg. It is a supersonic fly-by past a couple of Aegis small-boys. For some reason I can't get the image to load (I'm on NMCI) and I could really use it for a brief I'm giving tomorrow for about 150 Civil Air Patrol cadets. If anyone can download the image and PM it to me, I'd greatly appreciate it as it's a perfect perspective shot.
