The SHOW: Airlines still a "good gig"??

Re: Mad Dog's photo.

It's interesting that you don't see the ALPA pin on ties at Delta, whereas at United, it's expected. And if you don't have it on, expect it to come up immediately in conversation. And you better have a good reason.

It's pretty easy to see why at United since they went through the '85 strike where sole pilots crossed. And then the merger with Continental in 2010 brought in a bunch more scabs.

All my Delta buds tell me it's just not a thing there.

Different cultures.

Discovered this lanyard last month when two Navy “H-60 Mafia” dudes were sporting them during the Delta Command Leadership Course…and there are quite a few knuckleheads at Delta wearing these Navy/Delta lanyards. From what I learned, they were custom made [and subsequently given away] by the originator who is on the Delta seniority list. I missed the boat regarding this lanyard…the originator is all out…unknown if he’ll have more made…but at least I have a reference pic from one of the Navy “H-60 Mafia” dudes which I’ll probably use to do my own lanyard contracting [and do a giving away] in the future…

Score!

My most excellent First Officer had amazing SA while visiting the SEA CPO and noticed another Delta/Navy dude [Bucky, Growler driver] sporting a Delta/Navy lanyard. It was brought to my attention by my most excellent First Officer and I begged/pleaded my case to Bucky…and he gave me one of his extras…
