I saw this on futureweapons. Who's going to scrape non skid and paint all day if it's unmanned?

They all (UUV, USV, UAV/UAS) come home to roost sooner or later and that's when PMS and the like gets done.;)

How about Roombas? Of course the Navy's version will cost a fortune because it will be stainless steel for the constant salt spray and EMI hardened so the ship doesn't have to set EMCON during sweepers. ("Now set condition Roomba???")

:D

Shall we also limit the platforms to those with wooden decks? ;)

Brett
Why would ANYONE ever WANT to do that ... ???

You use what 'works' to get the job done
... not high-tech excess that wastes $$$ and doesn't change the game tomorrow ... you use just what you need. Anything more is extravagance, stupidity, and useless waste ...

BTW ... speakin' of 'wooden decks' ... have YOU ever walked on, stood duty one one ... or *** gasp*** holystoned one ... ???

Somehow ... I seriously doubt it ... but since you mentioned 'em ... I have ... :)

^^ If you keep narrowing your criteria, I'm sure you can find a few situations a BB would be better than a DDG...

At the end of the day, you're wading around ass deep in nostalgia to actually believe a Battleship is a better warfighting platform than its modern day equivalent.
