Things to Remember for TBS

It's on the TBS website and you can see what the new curriculum is/or what has been added. : )

Here's my calendar that the spouses get- it's actually more updated than the guys...since our den moms (xo and co wives) actually get the information from their husbands first and pass it on to the wives calendar next- so we are always a little more informed than the guys of changes.. *wink*

Whenever there is an event with a keg in the green carpet area remember to take it to your fireteam's room when people start to disburse. And if you are planning on doing keg stands remember to have someone hold the yellow bucket because there are wheels on there.

Just got back from MOUT today. It was a week long and we have FEX IV in a week. Looking forward to the E course to kick it off!

Fill us in on what FEX IV is all about. We didn't do it when I went through. We heard about its development but we got out in time :D

I had a great time at TBS. I was in Echo 05 (graduated jan 06). I know a lot has changed since then but things that made TBS more bearable was bonding with your platoon. We would roll out to dinner with 15 people on a regular basis. Poor Cicis never knew what hit them. There is bound to be a idiot or two in your platoon so keep a quote list posted in the platoon area. Keeping a sense of humor is directly proportional to keeping your sanity. Laugh off the dumb mistakes you will make. Check out camping stores for good gear. One of the best things I bought was sock liners. Very thin socks to wear under wool socks to help prevent blisters. A $15 energizer headlamp from walmart with a red light is also handy. You wont use it too much though, not very "tactical." Ten minutes early means everyone be there ten minutes early. Dont stand for any Joe who says "OK, well the platoon needs to be here ten minutes early, so i want the squad to be here 5 minutes before that. And as fire team leader I want you five minutes before that." That is not cool and/or tough. You'll want to impress the SPC the first couple weeks but dont go overboard. Let the brown baggers go early (after all tasks completed but while waiting for the word), they have a wife/ husband and kids to get to. Call them with the word for the next day. Dont be too gung ho, otherwise you will just piss off your squadmates. Take care of eachother, have fun, and as you said, be patient!

Ah, good 'ol 'Gunny-time'. Before you know it everyone is sitting in the classroom 45 min early thanks to dumb ass billet holders. I don't miss that at all.

No shit. Same thing happens in "real life." You don't see it sometimes as an officer in the fleet (I think), but look for signs that your PFCs had to show up at 0525 for 0600 PT and nip that shit in the bud.

FEV IV with out giving to much away, is the WAR brought back to life and well is like any other FEX, but just continous OPS for 72 hrs +/- no admin and your SPCs are the Co. CO & XO and you go against the other half of the Co. We liked to think of it as the check in the box here in Alpha Sqdrn.;)
