Collar, any collar as such, says: I'm gentleman. T-shirt says: I'm working hard. The latter's kinda more relevant today, I thinkWhy did we think polo shirts under flight suits was a thing back in the day?
I'm guessing a screen writer read this story and the lightbulb lit up.Not too far of a leap to guess Mav and Rooster both get shot down
That was my era. Hated it. Never did it. Thought it was a stupid look. Some of us held the line. Why did we think polo shirts under flight suits was a thing back in the day? (I'm guilty of it btw)

How about the Fleet GOAT?
There's a shot of Rooster in the backseat of a Tomcat as a 5th gen bad guy (SU-57?) falls away behind them. Not too far of a leap to guess Mav and Rooster both get shot down, and find an old bad guy F-14. "you know how to fly this old man?" They get in, kick ass, but then get another compressor stall and Mav loses it and starts talking to Goose again.
Called it here boys.

All JCLs weren't given solo at all, AFAIK. King was the third, VADM Elliott Buckmaster the last, of total 37 officers. Not so many as it seems(I can't remember if this was because of the airframe, his lack of hours/proficiency, or because the DoN recognized that he was likely to kill himself in the air)
Wow….his almost 20 min review reminded me of many of our threads at AirWarriors….so many rabbit holes. The aviation geeks have gotten into the TG2 universe giving us this…

I’m surprised Maverick doesn’t own a Corsair, better fighter than the P-51…wait…did I find a new rabbit hole?Wow….his almost 20 min review reminded me of many of our threads at AirWarriors….so many rabbit holes.
Halsey soloed, finished the full aviator course to winging, and flew a number of different aircraft….but none very well. All JCLs weren't given solo at all, AFAIK. King was the third, VADM Elliott Buckmaster the last, of total 37 officers. Not so many as it seems
