I'm with Lewie on that...

Commissioned at 22, plan on staying in till they give me the boot. Married with a kid on the way, so when the time comes where I have to make the stay in or get out decision, its whats best for the fam... not what Bubba wants.

Eventually, what's best for Bubba will be the best for the Fam in the long run......I know too much examples of guys giving up their military careers for some crappy job around the corner. Marriage counselour is a common word in their vocabulary right now. Not to mention the midlife crisis.

I just need a girl who likes to move around and take care of the kids alone (haha ... if she exists).

See the banana show....then, eat the banana "in situ". Lather, Rinse, Repeat.

My birthday is May 23rd, my class-up date at OCS is June 13th (09). I will not even be a month into 22 when I hit OCS :p

40 years if they let me. If the Navy is the only career I have I will be a happy man...otherwise I will have to work with more slack-jawed civilians:icon_rage

No real plans on what I want to do just yet. I have some ideas of career progression but as far as staying in for the long haul, that's a decision I'll make when I get to that point. Eventually, I want to move back home and have considered being a test pilot for Boeing if possible. There's lots of opportunities out there and it's impossible to know what's in store. Like some people have said already, your priorities will change over time leading you to rethink things.

Hard to answer that at this point, because I'm still waiting to submit my package. Provided I get the final select, I'll put in my 10 years and then make a decision. I think it's a little premature to say how I'll feel when I'm 32. I might have a wife and kids by then, so everything could change.

potential.
Good topic. I'd like to think that I'm just going to be in for the 4-6 years, because I definitely want to start a family at some point. I have friends who were army brats and they have always told me that they hated the constant moving around, leaving friends behind and having to start over at new schools. I wouldn't want that for my family. Then again, if I truly love it, who knows? Maybe I will get lucky.

Plus, I've always thought being in the FBI would be super cool.. =)

If all goes according to plan and I get selected, I should be getting commissioned right on or a month after my 23rd. As for how long I'm in, guess that depends on how good I am and how much I like the Navy. I want to get hitched and start making babies before I'm thirty, and I'm sure that'll change my perspective on things
