Given the 90 day wait you will have an opportunity to be seen by a board before you retest, but I would keep studying, 5's is the minimum passing score and your GPA doesn't help.
I am currently a junior so I won't be submitting my application package until October. I am thinking of retesting at least one more time, because I feel like I could do a lot better on the UAV and joystick parts. Do you know if people tend to do better the second time around?

I took it twice and got the exact some score across the board. That being said, I am a terrible standardized test taker.

Side note:

I forgot that they changed the ASTB. I took the old one. Then when I got to API they made us take the new test as "volunteers". It didn't count for anything but they wanted to make sure our scores would've lined up. Biggest pain in the ass test ever. I'll tell you that having not done very well on the joystick part isn't an indication of being a pilot. I failed that shit and still got wings. See above.

What constitutes a "criminal record" and how heavily is GPA considered if the major is STEM and ASTB scores are good? Also, does "flight experience" have to be PIC, or can air crew experience be considered?

Think anytime you were fingerprinted, cited, arrested, or any negative contact with LE

I personally took the ASTB exam over the summer. Spend maybe 3-4 weeks, putting in an hour each night and maybe 2-3 on a weekend and you should be fine. Any more time and the return starts to diminish. I have never heard an applicant say "Thank god I spent 6 months studying for the exam". 3-4 weeks is all you need at the very most.

very true, I also noticed that engineering majors tend to do well, I lost track how many who I met decided to take it on short notice and scored 8's and 9's.

What did your LT adviser say? What about your aviation LT? They know more than anyone what's competitive but I'd say those numbers and GPA is fine for service selecting Pilot/NFO.

Honestly my LT was sort of ambiguous. He said everyone from my unit with similar scores got picked up in the past years but also mentioned how there is room for improvement. The potential of doing worse is what has me concerned. I know I'm not rocking it but my scores are decent and I am confident with my GPA. Yet there is always the sub draft.

I am looking to have my package submitted in the Mayish rolling board for NFO. I am worried about my GPA being low however I feel like my service is going to help me even it out. Thoughts?
