First post here.. please excuse my format of delivery if it's not by any standards unknown by myself. My application package for the position of NFO was sent in early August, I believe. My recruiter has been somewhat distant but giving me an update here and there typically something along the lines of, "just hang tight, we should know soon". I am just trying to get a feel of what my chances are of getting picked up.
My scores are as follows;
OAR- 54
AQR- 6
PFAR- 5
FOFAR- 7
GPA- 3.44
I understand that nobody can give me a solid guaranteed answer but if anyone has any tips or advice, i would appreciate it.
When do you turn 27?
Are you prior service? Thanks for the response. I turn 27 on the 24th of July.

You have pretty good scores! The only advice I have for you is to write a killer personal statement and make sure you have good LORs . Other than that check out the previous boards to get a feel for your competition and the whole process. Good luck!Hello everyone,
First off, big thanks to everyone contributing to Air Warriors, I have found a ton of helpful information! I'm a senior electrical engineer at Texas A&M. I took the ASTB for the first time about two weeks ago, I didn't study and thought I did pretty bad during the exam but my scores ended up being ok. If I study I think I can score higher on the ASTB since I pretty much went in blind but my OR said to apply with my current scores. Going to MEPS next Friday (no waivers). I was told I can submit my application in December and the flight board will meet around February. I would greatly appreciate any advice or guidance.
I'm applying for Pilot
GPA - 3.07
OAR - 60
AQR - 7
PFAR - 7
FOFAR - 7
LOR - one from my manager when I was an intern and hopefully another from a Congressman that's a friend of my fathers.
Hey, just in case you’re still wondering what they are looking for, I was in the same boat as you. They were asking for “Evals” and just like you, us E-4s don’t get those. So all I did was give them my whole SRB and had them copy the whole thing. Hahah BIR, BTR and such. I guess they got what they wanted cause they didn’t ask for it afterwards. Were you USMC as well? Anyways, I'll be going in to talk to my old shop to see what records they actually retain, because i guess I need it for both age and GPA. Additionally, does an officer appraisal from a DESRON Commodore carry any weight? Lastly, and I hope this is a simple yes or no answer, but wouldn't I just require one outstanding end of service eval to satisfy the requirement for the prior service GPA/age waiver? That seems logical to me, but then again... this is the Department of the Navy we're talking about.
