Maxwell looks like he's had one too many DD coffees and probably way too many Dunkin Munchkins . . . .Happy Fathers Day...I ordered the whole family go to Church...and wear a “Dad Watch”. Pictured below left to right at Church...our daughter unit [Hannah] wearing my generic flieger ETA 6497-1 that I built at AWCI build-a-watch school, me wearing my dad’s Waltham Ruby and Hamilton Ross, the wife unit [Katy] wearing her dad’s Hamilton automatic, our son unit [Maxwell] wearing my modern Speedy Gonzales Moonwatch...good times!

“Dad Watch” family GTG at lunch following Church...
Why not just go and use the other strap you purchased?Speedy Tuesday!
In addition, after more than three years of ridiculously fun modern Speedy Gonzales Moonwatch ownership, my beloved Omega replica NASA strap [which is part of my Moonwatch presentation box set and my favorite strap] has worn out. More specifically, the “hook” portion of the Velcro is failing and many of the hooks have broken off due to repeated use, therefore, watch security on the wrist is an issue.
After much thought, I decided to give it the old college try tonight [at zero hundred something hours in the morning on Speedy Tuesday] and attempt to replace the failing Velcro hooks with new adhesive backed Velcro hooks.
First, I prepped the existing Velcro hook surface by cutting off the existing hooks with a nail clipper [which took about an hour] for a relatively uniform surface...the hook rubble pile is pictured below...

Next, I sized, cut and installed the new adhesive backed Velcro hooks. The sizing and cutting is slightly narrower than the strap so that the adhesive doesn’t interfere with the border stitching on the strap...I’m attempting to think ahead so that when the new Velcro hooks wear out in a few years and are peeled off, the border stitching will remain intact...

We’ll see...FCFing it at the VA NASCAR volunteer job today.I wonder if adhesive is strong enough - you may need to stitch it in place.
I want to save that one...it’s still in its original packaging with tags...very minty. Why not just go and use the other strap you purchased?
