OCS Wilks Flight Initiative Eligibility Based on Graduation Date

Hello everyone!

I am currently a junior who applied for the CSPI program last fall ('24). I have not gotten in yet, as the decision will only come out late March, but I was interested in the Wilks Flight Initiative, as becoming a search and rescue pilot is one of my goals. I understand that even if I get into CSPI, there is no guarantee of a flight slot, which is why I also made sure to emphasize in my application my technical abilities related to data analytics so I could work as an officer in that field.

Currently my plan, if I get into CSPI, is to apply for the WiFi program this coming fall ('25). However, I may be eligible to graduate in December '25 rather than June '26. I know that the WiFi application and results timelines is concurrent with the CSPI program, so would I even be eligible to apply for WiFi if I graduate in December '25? Would I have to get some sort of waiver to apply early / get results before my OCS is over?

I am willing to postpone my graduation to June 2026 if that is what is needed to be eligible for WiFi, but I just want to know what options there are.

I’m an old guy. But since WiFi offers you a guaranteed flight slot I’d take that route. A few extra months of college is a good thing if connected to a flight school guarantee.
