LOTS of people use Signal. My team uses it when we're on the road overseas. The funny thing is, govt. issued phones can't download the app. Lots CI briefs about govt. phones being vulnerable to the "accepted" list of apps available for use. An IOS updated iPhone that avoids public WiFi is pretty secure when using apps like Signal. Not perfect, but pretty good.
Oh, then it’s okay. 🙄

Nevermind everybody, @robav8r said it wasn’t a big deal. Problem solved.

It’s hard enough trying to beat into the maintainers (and some aircrew’s) heads that PPEDs are not allowed in the aircraft, and then you have the VP and SECDEF sharing TS info (prob classified) info on Signal with randos FFS.

This.

But at the same time I trust our A1C SCIF rat to handle classified information better than our elected leadership.

We, rightfully, prosecuted the kid from the Mass ANG for disclosing classified info. I doubt we'll do the same of our high level leadership. We don't seem to want to hold them to the same standards we demand of ourselves.

I think that a public apology and some words about tightening up security protocols are sufficient.

And I've never seen a butter bar's career ended over an accidental security violation.

It's not accidental when you're transmitting classified information on an unclass device, or your putting a classified device on an unsecured network and communicating with unclass devices, and users who don't have a security clearance and aren't read in.

This is highlights why we're not allowed to use unsecured devices to transmit classified information.

This isn't the only time it's happened, it's just the first time they've been caught doing it.

Pressed repeatedly about the security breach in the previously scheduled intelligence committee hearing, Tulsi Gabbard, the director of national intelligence, and John Ratcliffe, the C.I.A. director, both denied that classified material had been shared in the chat in which they were included.

So I hope Goldberg releases the non-classified information. No reason not to at this point.

No, @JTS11 I do not. Was just submitting a comparative analysis between the current, and last, WH press secretary wrt their ability to "masterfully grasp the facts." That's all, why are you gaslighting? Sheesh . . . .
Please explain why you thought bringing up Karine Jean-Pierre was germane to the discussion. Not gaslighting you.

Beat me to it. And when Leavitt proudly touts the condoms for Gaza “fact,” you can’t claim that she’s some paradigm of intelligence. And also I don’t think you’d find a single person on this board that would have proudly used a KJP talking point as evidence to support an argument.

I get the press are biased, but it seems a bit crazy to me that this group chat thing is receiving *more outrage* than Joe Biden, you know, letting the Houthi terrorists attack American shipping and shut down a vital shipping lane.

During President Biden's tenure, USCENTCOM consistently attacked the Houthis. You can literally look it up.

What do you propose President Trump do that Biden didn't -- should we send troops into Yemen? Should we sink vessels we think are used by Iran?
