The end of NATO?

I get the press are biased, but it seems a bit crazy to me that this group chat thing is receiving *more outrage* than Joe Biden, you know, letting the Houthi terrorists attack American shipping and shut down a vital shipping lane.
How many times has this administration preached about accountability with classified information and how long has the right hounded the country about Hillary Clinton's scandal. But all of a sudden it doesn't matter and its just a mistake? Doesn't make sense. I mean Tulsi Gabbard herself said we will prosecute mishandling of classsified evidence viligiantly. But now that its at her door step she's just like "don't worry about it guys". Listen to what we say not watch what we do is the vibes I'm getting right now.

Friend, it has been two days. Maybe let both the hearings and investigation play out?

Someone down the staff line might get slapped around for this, but no one of note is going to be forced to resign.

This is an ignorant post. This topic is also tricky to discuss outside of a SCIF.
However, it is safe to say that the "America First," "no dollars spent abroad," and "USAID is a waste" ideologies are counter to stability in the region for ourselves and our allies.

Most butterbars would know they can't do this, and would be court-martialed.
Anecdote, but germane nonetheless. RAG cone known to me lost a classified NATOPS off the back of his motorcycle while crossing the Bay Bridge. There it sat in the middle of traffic until someone recognized it for what it was, picked it up, and returned it to the squadron. Of course it was traced to the proper custodian. That individual (O-2) finished the rag and had a very fine career with no ill effects at all.

There’s a continuum of severity on the concepts of negligence and willful disregard for procedures related to classified material handling. That’s why some things merit just an ass chewing, some merit not going further in your career, some merit getting fired and losing your clearance, and some merit FPMITAP.

SecDef is the one who blasted the classified info into the text. I wouldn’t be surprised if he is the one who will ultimately be thrown under the bus.

Of course. That is why I said it was germane and not analogist.

So, considering "negligence and willful disregard of procedures", there are the facts he did remove by subterfuge a classified publication from a building from which it was not supposed to leave and then heaped on transporting it in an irresponsible manner. Not sorry it worked out the way that it did. He was truly a great guy. We were friends for years.

Point being, we rarely court martial for such lapses

How classified? What penance paid?

Goldberg should publish them, then. Along with the identity of the CIA chat participant. He reports, we decide.

I'm betting there is SCI information in that chat. All the people involved in the strike can confirm/deny.

The folks that flew the strike can then ponder on whether an adversary could have done something with a 2 hour heads up.
It would be pretty funny if Goldberg publishes the texts then gets hit with the espionage act

I never said that . . . . at all. Just giving a little context about the app and its uses.
Your post seemed to minimize the use of the signal app for messaging others about war plans….ergo, my “it’s okay” comment.

During President Biden's tenure, USCENTCOM consistently attacked the Houthis. You can literally look it up.

What do you propose President Trump do that Biden didn't -- should we send troops into Yemen? Should we sink vessels we think are used by Iran?
Why did Biden remove their terrorist designation then? What a dumb move. Thankfully we have some sense back now. The previous admin’s (and by extension, Obama’s) stand on the houthis and Iran was puzzling to say the least

Dude - come on. You're smarter than that . . .
Regardless of political affiliation, the use of unclassified transport to discuss classified info is not good. While the mission was accomplished with no US deaths, the damage to relationships with our allies will continue to be fracture over the disclosure of the US’s diplomatic stance revealed.

I don't know why they removed it. Do you think designating them as terrorists is all that's required to open shipping lanes?
