I haven’t gotten a finsel letter or anything “official” from the navy. Just confirmation through my recruiter. Should I be concerned?

ok gotcha i dont think so but pretty sure (pls fact check me). That you eventually should get the finsel letter and swear in etc. before OCS
Just adding. I am also civilian. Verbal notification on 12/6/24. Also still waiting on a date. Was told to assume Jul/Aug. Someone in my region just got a date, who's also supply selectee. I am hoping that means I will get a date sometime soon. I was told I was FY25.
Thanks for adding your experience! Tbh, I’ve been uneasy about how informal everything has been. I put my packet in last September and told people I was joining the Navy. Here I am 6 months later with no official “proof” that I’m even going, and people around my small town are starting to call me a liar 😂 Glad to know that this is normal

yes same as you guys. The waiting in limbo has been unsettling. I may have had harsher words in my mind about it at times. But I have heard that they do everything in batches. So once people start getting dates, it should cascade quite nicely. I rarely get on here, but I am glad I did today.
Just keep running and working out until we go.

The Nov2024 supply board I was initial selection notified. While waiting for the call for final selection date for OCS, I now have a date to meet with our regional command (meet and greet) and they will give us a PRT. Most likely will not receive a finsel date until after this new thing they are doing. And no, I am coming from civilian side.
I’m coming from civi side and got a date of 8/24/25, but no mention of needing to do a PRT prior to leaving. Is this a thing everyone is having to do? I was under the impression that this was on first Friday after beginning training. My recruiter hasn’t been easily accessible, so I haven’t been able to get much information about a whole lot of anything concerning what’s expected of me and what I can expect from the Navy.
I think it is a bit mixed up. Perhaps my region is doing something different. Seems you already have your OCS date, so you are good to go, I assume. This is some new thing they are having our region do. I do not yet have an OCS date and finsel letter.
I have a ship date but no finsel letter. It seems odd that I would get a ship date without actually being final selected, but it also seems odd that I haven’t signed a service agreement or anything binding if they’ve committed to sending me. The whole thing has been really informal.
My recruiter called me in December and said I was selected and would be going in July. Then I got an email from her saying I was leaving in August. I’ve texted her twice over the last 3 weeks with no response, and her vm is full. Im just starting to question whether I’m truly “locked in” at this point or not. The closest thing to an official notification that I’ve gotten is that email from my recruiter. I guess she’ll eventually reach out to me if I need to knock out a PRT 🤷♂️
