It's been about a year since I did it, but here's a rough outline:

- 25 yards of the four basic strokes: front crawl, breaststroke, sidestroke, and backstroke
- 25 yards of the four basic strokes, but in a flight suit
- 2 minute tread, 4 minute dead man float in a flight suit
- 2 minute tread, 5 minute dead man float in flight suit, harness, gloves, and boots
- 2 minute tread, 6 minute dead man float in full gear and helmet
- Tower to line: an abandon ship jump from 5 meter tower and an underwater swim for about 15-20ish yards
- 75 yards breaststroke in full gear and helmet
- Various survival exercises including swimming under simulated fires and creating various flotation devices
- 1 mile swim in flight suit (done in under 80 minutes)
- CPR/First Aid training and certification
The one mile swim seems brutal lol

It's not too bad, I breaststroked the whole thing and finished in 52ish minutes, but they also stopped me a few laps early. They'll pass you early if they're pretty sure you won't drown if you do the whole mile

Definitely get better at swimming beforehand tho, the flight suit adds a lot of drag and makes it more difficult

Yeah I was thinking that maybe some swim lessons wouldn't be a bad investment. Is there any time after OCS to do so or do you recommend even before OCS? I can swim, so I may be fine with the swims at OCS but Pensacola, what what I'm understanding, is more rigorous.

After OCS do you immediately head to Pensacola for flight training or is there a small gap in between? I know most likely you will have to wait to be classed up but just curious if they want you in Pensacola ASAP after OCS.

ASAP after OCS.

You’ll have about 4 days to report from commissioning date/date on orders (graduation day if you’re medically cleared).

Not a bad idea tbh, I was lucky enough to have a friend who swam competitively and he helped me out a ton. Learning to use your breath to keep you afloat will go a long way in some of the other things you have to do

Is there a quota for ISEL(Supply or in general). Trying to figure out the possible shipping date after I submit my package.

Curious how many times a week do they typically run 3 miles during OCS? Not that I’m worried just curious because I run a lot and want to tone down my running for some HIIT and lifting.

Is this all in one go or over a day or many days?

So I'm probably putting the horse before the carriage here but after graduating OCS, from what I've read most NSAs go straight to Pensacola while they wait to start school instead of working at their local recruitment center. If that's the case, how does getting set up with a rental unit typically work? Are you given some time before graduating to make this happen? Do CandiOs typically room together? Is there a period of time allowed to "move-in" like get my car and furnish the apartment?

Regardless if you’re going OHARP (hometown recruiting) or direct to Pensacola, you will be given time to get things in order - such as finding a place to live, etc.
