I have to assume you either have an awesome retirement plan or a ridiculous coke problem.
I find that when I don't waste money on unnecessary crap, I tend to have more of it in my wallet (figuratively, phrogdriver). Not spending money on things that I can get for free is neither an awesome retirement plan, nor is it indicative of any sort of substance abuse problem.
It's what we in the biz like to call "good headwork."

I was concerned that the movie would be somewhat skewed by Hollywood, and not really an accurate docu-drama that was historically factual. As an interesting side note, I was recently jumpseating to work on USAirways when one of the flight attendants made an announcement that we had a "distinguished passenger" onboard. I cannot recall his name, but he was working as one of the technical advisors on the movie and supposedly had a confirmed kill of an Me-262 in 1945.
I recall another made-for-TV movie about the Tuskegee airman that was pretty good, but I think it was a number of years ago.

Most were. The 262 had a nasty habit of setting asphalt runways on fire so the only operated on concrete runways which it easy for the Allies to target thier airfields.

When I saw hollywood movie "behind the enemy line 1",publish in 1995, tell the story about two American pilots who shoot down by Serbian armed. I think it is very wonderful,no matter from the story ,or detail of this movie. But I still want ask some question.
1 Why F18 emitted infrared decoys can get rid of the first SAM, But the infrared decoys invalid to the second SAM?
2 The last paragraph of movie was really scared me. the American pilot are superman?Dozens of serbian soldiers take AK47 shoot him, even can't put a bullet into his head?

Infrared decoys are usually employed against AAMs, not SAMs...
In my experience, AK-47s, were somewhat effective against low, slower flying aircraft. They sprayed, hoping to hole a fuel tank or penetrate the engine, not to plug a pilot's head.

A couple of things...I'll try to keep them in order:
1. "To the average civilian": I had much the same thoughts (in every aspect) about "Pearl Harbor"...until one of my young sons said "Dad, this really makes me want to learn more about [the whole thing]". I pointed him at "Tora Tora Tora" as probably the next DVD to rent...which he did. So...if it reaches out to young people and at least gives them a fucking clue about times past...no matter how corny those of us "in the show" think it might be...well, it's on the good side of the ledger. If it further energizes young people of color to understand and better appreciate what their earlier generations had to endure...I'm cool with that as well. "The average civilian" IS, after all, the targeted movie-going audience.
2. "...the CG was crap...": Yes...and no. I agree...the flight dynamics modeling was an arcade game and totally unrealistic. Only those of us "in the show" know that, however. On the OTHER hand, I thought the CG rendering of individual aircraft was nothing short of eye-wateringly spectacular and gorgeous. Art in motion.
3. "...but I just wanted to walk out...": My wife and I actually did, after about 20 minutes. Shitty script, shitty acting...yadda yadda yadda... But later, I got a DVD of it and gave it a second chance...in private. Glad I did...for the reasons above.

I thought that was Iron Eagle...Let's face it, the ONLY completely faithful and technically/historically accurate motion picture ever made was "TOP GUN". There can never, and will never, be another like it.
I work smart collection/analyst. Kind like us spy pilot. Which lead me question one more.
Personally, I enjoyed it for the following reasons:
1. Most moviegoers enjoy plots involving 'time travel', however strange the plot, i.e. "Somewhere In Time", etc.
2. Got some great shots of then then new USS NIMITZ & F-14 Tomcats in action.
3. The idea of aerial combat between a modern jet fighter & a WWII Japanese Zero, was novel, and interesting (to me). I'll never forget the look of awe in the Zero pilot's eyes, as the Turkey drivers buzzed them at the speed of heat, "WTF was that???"
4. Kirk Douglas' portrayal as the CVN 'Skipper' was spot on!
Just my opinion.
