04NOV24 SNA/NFO Board

NKMess

SNA Select, AD HM1
Trying to figure out what I-SEL is since I've heard the same thing about it not being guaranteed. What were you told I-SEL means. I'm at a 6/7/7 right now and trying to figure out if I should take the test a second time to try and get that extra point or just ride out what I have. I missed this board (Nov. 4) so trying to figure out my next steps. Any info you got about I-SEL would be greatly appreciated!
I-SEL is immediate select. Basically you have to meet all the program requirements, plus have a GPA of at least 3.0, and an ASTB of 7/7/7 for SNA (I think NFO is 6/6/6). You also have to be ready to go on short order and not require any administrative waivers. Not sure how it is on the civilian side, but for AD you have to apply for I-SEL specifically, rather than it being an automatic enrollment if you score higher enough.

Until they change the board schedule it is just rumors.

The answer is it depends, sometimes they won't let anyone apply and return applications to the recruiting district, if it is only a few month delay they have been known to roll them to the next board.
So what I'm gathering from this thread is that the board schedule is the official word and everything else is probably just rumors? So keep an eye on the board schedule and don't listen as much to all the other noise?

Thanks. Still a student so wouldn't be able to go on short order anyway. Really just trying to get into the BDCP but with all the talk about boards being cancelled and how new this I-SEL program is it's almost impossible to find reliable information about anything

Yeah man, I would just ride it out and go with BDCP. Being an active duty guy, especially as an HM I felt time wasn't on my side, mainly with getting a conditional release next FY. Basically that planning factor lead to me accelerating my plans somewhat.

Until the board schedule changes keep preparing as if you will be submitting, it is better to be prepared and find out you need to wait, than to not prepare and find out you can submit.

same info from my recruiter. the remaining SNA boards for FY25 will be BDCP students only. I'll be applying for the January board with a 3.4 and 55 6/8/7.

BDCP does have a limit as to how many they can have in that program, I don't know what that number is only NRC has that specific number.

I recently spoke to my OR about the same issue, a was told that BDCP applicants "shouldn't be affected" due to accepted applicants not being shipped to OCS until after graduation, which is typically not for 8-12 months.
I heard the exact opposite 😂 😂 Mine said everything was on hold. Guess I better give him a call. Have you heard anything else about how this affects BDCP applicants?

I was just informed by my OR that this pilot board is cancelled and that the next one would be around May. Not sure how this impacts those applying through I-SEL and/or BDCP. I guess I’ll see the rest of y’all around May, good luck! :)

I texted my recruiter about this and he said the regular board is shut down but for BDCP applicants it says it doesn't affect our designator.

Same info from my recruiter. I’m assuming it doesn’t effect BDCP applicants because we won’t be shipping to OCS for another 8-12 months.
