Yea I wouldn’t put too much stock in the online sim for 100% accuracy practice for the real test. I would just use it as a way to feel comfortable with the concept of these tests if that makes a sense? Instead just really pay attention to the instructions provided on the test, you have plenty of time to read and understand so you don’t mix up which ear does what and which button does what.
Does the UAV portion of the exam look anything like the UAV sim in the astb prep app? (With a plane to your left and compass to your right?)

Hello everyone, I’m currently interested in the OCS route for the Navy branch. What is the best material I can use to study for the OAR EXAM? Thank you in advance for your time and consideration!

Start from page 600 of this thread and read on all the gouge up until the most recent post.
The drives are extremely helpful and the math sheets are super helpful
For math: organic chemistry Tutor and grammar hero on YouTube. I would recommend watching all of grammar hero’s math videos as he goes over the basics. OCT for the more difficult topics. I believe the reason my OAR is higher second take is because I focused more on math as I’ve been out of school for a bit.
Reading: can’t help much on that
Mechanical: I cannot stress this enough but the drives in this are super helpful. Anything you do not understand either google or YouTube it! Very straightforward.
People recommend getting study books. I felt the YouTube and drives served me a lot better.
I only utilized 3 drives
Gomez
Dallas
GT drive

So I got a 43 5/7/6 on the test.

Math felt alright. Wasn't as complex and the material I studied for. For the most part I believe I knew what was presented. I think the section eventually ended before I finished 30 questions?? I'm not sure.

Reading was pretty straightforward, however I wasn't able to finish on time.

Mechanical was probably the section I knew the least on the test. It was a bit different than what I studied for. I wasn't able to finish on time as well.

ANIT wise, I was surprised. I believe I studied the least amount for this section but fortunately, 90% or more of the questions I knew. Felt confident after finishing them.

PMB wise, was a breeze tbh. I was most confident with this. I think I got UAV all correct and hopefully the terrain portion. The stick and throttle portion also went well. Obviously I can't say whether I got all them correct but I didn't have a hard time tracking the targets, plus with the listening and emergency procedures.

I won't lie, I was a bit surprised by my scores. Everything from the ANIT onwards (PMB) was very easy for me.

I'm guessing not finishing the reading and mechanical section/the mechanical being my weaker section, were a decent portion of my over all score. As far as I'm aware, the math reading and mechanical section affects the OAR, hence the low score, however I don't know if it affects any other section of the ASTB. If not then, I'm not sure how much more I can improve the PFAR and FOFAR: assuming if those two sections are PMB heavy.

Nonetheless, I hope to take it again. I hope I'm know what to focus a bit more on and hopefully I'll do better.

From what I have heard and researched your OAR affects that first number too, you got this dude, you'll do even better the second time.

Ah ok, well I guess that explains the 5. I'll get back to the drawing board and try to improve on all 3 areas.

I feel like math is weighted a little more heavily. I focused on that more my second take and rose my OAR almost 10 points and my AQR was a 7 my second take.
GT drive for mechanical! This helped me to understand the concepts that were difficult.

You got this man! Take a day to rest. After that, just grind for the scores you want.

Thank you for the drive recommendation, I should have spent a bit more time of mechanical but now I know. And it seems like math does way heavily. Perhaps I didn't do as good as I thought. Well hopefully come next time, I'll do well. I spent most of my time studying math in Kyle's and Gomez's folder but I didn't see much of it on the exam. So, I'll have to study other materials more.
