So we do we need to be in PRT shape as soon as we get the pro-rec yes or by the time we ship? I think there were conflicting answers. Yes, I realize better safe than sorry.
Although I want to quit immediately, I'm going to work until about 2 months before OCS so I can save enough money take a road trip around this beautiful country and get back into fighting shapeDo you all think you'll keep your current job right up until OCS or would you plan on doing something else between? Recently had a coworker leave to join the marines and he left 6 months before his actual ship date (or whatever they would call it) to just focus on getting into ridiculous shape. I'd probably need a part time job but definitely is fun to fantasize about on a slow Monday.
I was told not until you actually ship but agreed have seen different answers on this site.So we do we need to be in PRT shape as soon as we get the pro-rec yes or by the time we ship? I think there were conflicting answers. Yes, I realize better safe than sorry.
From what I know you need to take it either 2 weeks or a month before you ship to OCS.So we do we need to be in PRT shape as soon as we get the pro-rec yes or by the time we ship? I think there were conflicting answers. Yes, I realize better safe than sorry.
I’m gonna keep working till maybe two months before so I can focus on working out but right before that I’ll be taking my couple weeks of PTO too so more like three months. But I want to take some time travel maybe go see the national parks and go to like Hawaii and Alaska. I wouldn’t want to quit sooner and blow through my savings.Do you all think you'll keep your current job right up until OCS or would you plan on doing something else between? I think general consensus lately is anytime from July-November 2022 with a bias towards the back end of that.I’m gonna keep working till maybe two months before so I can focus on working out but right before that I’ll be taking my couple weeks of PTO too so more like three months. When do you think ocs dates for people at this board will be possibly anyways?
Lol just means more time for me to go on vacations and save money. So I could live with that ?I think general consensus lately is anytime from July-November 2022 with a bias towards the back end of that.
Although I want to quit my job immediately the Navy won’t let me.Although I want to quit immediately, I'm going to work until about 2 months before OCS so I can save enough money take a road trip around this beautiful country and get back into fighting shape
Speaking of undisclosed vacation: when does the SF86 clearance investigation actually happen?Although I want to quit my job immediately the Navy won’t let me.
Jk but in all seriousness, take the awesome trip or vacation! The Navy has been great but between training, workups, and deployments, taking those trips only gets harder to plan. It’d be a pretty sweet celebration too
I start transfer leave on the 23 and currently on house hunting so I’ll be in limboAlthough I want to quit my job immediately the Navy won’t let me.

Tinker if I get this pro-rec NWhere to?
I think I filled that out before enlisting, then most of my clearance investigation was completed during dive school (pretty early in my training.) I don’t know at what point you need secret clearance, but I know at the TS/SCI level the backlog is huge and can take a while. I don’t think aviation requires above a secret though, which should go much faster.Speaking of undisclosed vacation: when does the SF86 clearance investigation actually happen?
Listing countries visited in the last 7 years is pretty easy though, and does not complicate things. I motorcycles through Mexico, Central America, and South America right before joining. Filling out the SF86 was a massive pain (I also have 9 siblings; I needed like 50 pages) but it only led to like 3 questions during my security interview and didn’t slow anything down.Speaking of undisclosed vacation: when does the SF86 clearance investigation actually happen?
