Yep bills, mortgage, stocks. I dont have a family but alot of the time alot of the guys would be worried about tricare stuff with their kids....etc. if or when you get to a ship sometimes you dont have access to your account and can only talk to your spouse and family for a couple times a week (in my experience). Just good practice to have a day of checking everything when that day comes
Thanks. And about social relationship issues, like family/spouse/friends, is it about setting expectations? That their loved one is entering a dangerous job, will not be accessibly for comms at all times, is forecasted to go on x-number of deployments in the coming y-number of years?

My understanding is that the security clearance is done before OCS. It's not really a big deal, and its done in the background.
Some people get called for more info, others do not.
You don't often hear if it goes through or not because its almost never an issue.
This I was called actually just for more information on my foreign travel cause it counted as foreign education and they wanted some extra references who were knowledgeable of it. I don’t think I would have heard a single thing had it not been for that.

A bit of both. Honestly ive dealt with alot of crazy stuff with Sailors and their spouse while on deployment. Im sure some other AD folks can chime in. Im sure Officers have better comms with fam then enlisted but still limited. If things are messed up before you leave you dont want that on your mind before you leave or before flight school im sure. It messes with people and the mission

Yup. I got a call from the investigator where all they asked me about was my dual citizenship over and over and over again. This lastest about an hour.

I'm was a citizen of the UK, our closest ally outside of Canada lol. They neglected to ask me about any of the 10+ countries I'd been to in the past 5 or so years. Thought it was ridiculous and a bit funny.

I don’t want to raise any alarms, but the last few pages seem to contain far too much helpful information and not nearly enough doom posting and meme oneupsmanship.

Relying solely on @Navy21 to maintain the proper ratios to ensure the least amount of days until results are posted.

Haha I kept saying why is it foreign education the state department paid for me to go study overseas. Never thought of it as foreign education till they were like yeah it’s foreign education.
