It doesn't, not at all, and if the person telling you that had a clue or knew how to look at the dashboard they would understand that. The USN needs to attain just under 300 SNA from OCS for FY 22, 200 have gone to OCS with more waiting, it is about meeting the attainment goal.

If that was even remotely true the timeline doesn't work out, USNA and NROTC grad in May or early June so they will be in Pensacola in June, to prevent a bottle neck you would need OCS students to arrive in July and later, that means to account for OCS and leave go back 4 months, that means those going to OCS would have been pushed to March.

What is this dashboard that I’ve heard so much about?

no music for running? Also a certified serial killer.

Lol I’m not trying to end up on the evening news cause I was running with headphones in and didn’t hear something ?. Haha just a personal preference and all on how I would like to not end up buried in a field somewhere.

Mine is really supportive, but the absurd time I’m putting in for studying right now has been tough on my wife and kids. I know training and future deployment is going to be really tough on them, but having a past check and benefits in return for that sacrifice will make a massive difference. Right now, everything is up in the air and there are no promises. Which is hard.

My whole family has been supportive of me being in the Navy but have absolutely no clue what I do after 10 years lol. I try to explain to them that I am applying for a promotion cause that’s all they can comprehend? they’re like don’t you already fly on planes. No… I fix the avionics systems. What’s avionics? Aviation electronics. What’s that? Idk like radar, comms, acoustics, ESM… you know what.. I fix radios. Ohhh ok, that’s cool! ?

However, my little brother joined a year after me and an AT as well so he’s extremely supportive and my husband was also an AT in the Navy (yes we’re one of those annoying Navy couples) but we’re 8 years strong so suck it! Lol. My husband has been an absolute blessing. He is my number one fan and cheerleader. We had our baby boy in May of 2020 during COVID and our older elementary aged kids were stuck at home doing online learning. I worked days he worked nights and we high fives half way through the day. All while I was doing school full-time to finish my Bachelors. I wouldn’t be here even at the point of applying if it weren’t for him and his support. I probably would have quit a long time ago. But here we are! I hope it all paid off!!

Haha I actually don’t run with music now cause I figured won’t be able to there so might as well start getting used to it. Also I like to run at night and I live kind of on the edge of the town where like a mile down the road it’s farms and dirt roads so I feel I need to hear my surroundings anyways so no music when running for me. But I listen to a range of metal or hard rock or rap when lifting or cycling.
My dad is 67, still runs every day and doesn't listen to music. So there must be something to it.
Its an art exclusive to mad men.

I think my parents would have been less supportive if we didn't have family friends who were prior OCS.
As I said before, I was off to get my PhD too, and my family was pretty confused why I turned down the opportunity. When I explained what I was doing, that I was pretty eh about academia, and the navy was one of the better branches for women, they seemed more down to clown with me joining the navy.
