My wife and I were in Orlando last night for the Orlando Symphony's holiday concert. It was a good time, I miss living there. Lake County just isn't the same despite being super close!
The Orlando airport this morning was next level busy unlike anything I’ve ever experienced in my life when I've traveled around the holidays before. I definitely wasn’t a fan of the night life in Orlando. The night life I liked the most was in Phoenix/Scottsdale area.

I’ve tried digging through these forums but couldn’t find an answer and I’ve heard some of you talking about it… but I’m 29, turn 30 in May 2022. What are the rules for age for SNA and NFO? What waivers exist, etc? I’ve heard some waivers exist for up to 35 years old?

The age limit is 32 no waiver required. You have time

My understanding is you would need to be commissioned (finish OCS) by your 32nd birthday for SNA, 33rd birthday for SNFO. My age waiver took over a month and it took place after my whole package was complete, almost like it was contingent upon whether my application was worthy or not.

Is there a new PA stating 33? Last one I saw it was 32 for both. If it’s 33 I got even more time in case I don’t make it this time haha. I wouldn’t be mad about that.

Pretty much all of the Orlando night life I'm familiar with are sketchy punk rock bars which area actually quite a good time. But ya if you're looking for Miami style clubs it's not the best place.

Haha I ended up at some rooftop bar playing only EDM. It was an interesting time to say the least.

It is commissioned by 32 for both.

NRC essentially rubber stamps most non-moral/legal waivers, they used to be a hard no for most waivers but as CO's change they can change their policies.

Now they let the board decide, so really an approved waiver is not really an approved waiver, it is just NRC agreeing to let the board see you. In some cases the board will give a Y, in some cases they will give a DNR and in other cases they will give a N to people with those types of waivers. There are some designators that may not be willing to give a waiver but instead of giving a DNR they will just give a N which unfortunately results in people applying over and over again.

The best you can hope for is to try, and unfortunately if it is a N you won't know if it was due to age waiver (as an example) or due to a few people having a slightly better application.

Thanks for the correction. My recruiter had described the waiver as allowing my application to be seen by the board but not a guarantee that my waived condition wouldn't be a factor in the final decision i.e. just because I got an age waiver doesn't mean the board will like that I'm old.

It will be interesting to see if the board will still consider PFAR over age in this circumstance, you are probably the best test case there is.

I don't like how they consider it a waiver as if it truly was a waiver that would indicate NRC would be saying no to people who were submitting, but they do not. It is more like an age acknowledgement lol.

I'm being put on notice about my age and GPA before I even start lol

I got a call. It was not THE call, but it was the unofficial Pro-Rec Y call a couple other people got last week.

Mine came at 9:30 Sunday morning, right after I posted that silly February 30th date guess... I texted my OR on the 22nd when we got to the first unofficial yes, he texted back on Friday that he was on leave but would check when he got to a computer. I have him saved as a contact so when he called I saw the name popped up on the phone, I yelled "Oh Shit!" and ran to a bedroom for some silence.

OR: So how did you find out the results were out?
Me: The Airwarriors forum
OR: Yeah that's how most people find out early. So I looked it up and I have unofficial results. Do you want to know or do you want to wait until the results are official?
Me: I would rather have as much information as possible....
OR: You're accepted

After that the rest of the conversation blurs together in my memory. There is a 72hour indoc we have to do, monthly PRT's until I ship, SNFO's are getting sooner rather than later OCS dates, and he expects official results some time this week.

Congratulations!!! God I sure hope the results come out this week. IDK how much longer I am going to last. I hope I am not too tatted for them. Haha. I feel like that is the only thing I have working against me right now, besides my mediocre test scores. Lol.
