2018 AMDO Board

The last OCS board I applied for in 2016 had a similar issue that dealt with a massive lack of communication between the two gentlemen and a number of fleet applications. It was eventually sorted out. It was just messy.

To me..... It's your career, you can never be to thorough. I would make the call esp. knowing if you call today you will get a hold of someone different. Have them confirm over the phone it's process and awaiting the board. Like I have said before people, myself included, put tons of time and effort into putting these packages together to send them off and not know without a doubt it's going to the board. I have read many posts of civilian applicants getting pushed to the next board due to human error or different issues that could have been prevented. Luckily for fleet applicants, we don't have to rely on a recruiter to get it in and hope all is well. It's on us, which honestly makes me feel a lot better about the situation. I know that my entire application process was in my hands.

Called to verify. "It is complete. It was picked up by the program manager and will be looked at during the next board." So back to the waiting game!

Yea I don't know where the miscommunication is coming from. Ted told me specifically they are not processing applications without the form and had me running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to get it completed...so if it comes down to us not even needing it...i guess that sounds about right.

Last time I applied (Supply Apr 2016), I got two emails back. One from Mr. Williams saying they weren’t accepting Fleet Applicants, and then another two hours later from Mr. Celestin saying my application was sent to the community manager and board-ready. They both angrily stuck to their opposing statements over weeks of desperate phone calls and emails. I didn’t have any results in May. I found out that they had actually forwarded my application to the August board when they received it because the April board was full for AD, but never said that entire explanation to me.

Basically what I am saying is.. they could both be right. We’ll probably just never know why or how.

Like I said before I called the OCM talking about the different changes (deadlines and 2807-2) and he was pissed because no one was relaying anything to him. Millington was off yesterday due to weather, but I would imagine Mr. Hawkins made some calls to CNRC today. With that being said, you can always call the OCM. He has gladly answered any questions I had the two times I have spoke with him. Also there is a NCC at CNRC (901-874-9335), who is the program manager for AMDO who is very helpful as well.

Regarding the 2807-2 medical form that had a lot of us scrambling around - I spoke with the AMDO OCM today in person and he told me that he had conversation with CNRC about it and they came to a mutual agreement that for the purpose of the AMDO board, submit your package without it if you can't get the form done in time. Then, if Pro-Rec'd, the OCM will have you go complete the form after the fact. Long story short - they won't reject your package for the AMDO board if the form isn't in there.

Hopefully that helps ensure everyone who was thrown off by the last minute change can still submit their package. Best of luck to everyone!

I just got back from medical and they told me that 2807-2 form is only for civilians and not prior military personnel. They said the 2807-1 should suffice. By the way I am stationed in Lemoore California.

I sent my package last week without 2807-1 and just got an email from Ted Williams saying that my package is qualified for the board. Best luck for everybody!
