23MAY2022 SNA/SNFO BOARD

Verity760

AC1(AW/SW/IW)
Decided to drop out of the lurking tree to join in on the chat. I’m an air traffic controller stationed out of NAS Pensacola. 13 years of service and I’d say above par performance for most of it. I’ve worked closely with pilots and flight officers for most of my career and been working on my application for over 2 years and this is my first board. I applied for SNA and NFO and I’d be elated with either. Any and every platform is fine with me. I love this job and will go wherever they send me and stay in as long as they keep me. Happy to answer any ATC questions for any of you prospective aviators or any questions about the base.

And as far as favorite colors, the only ones that matter are Blue and Gold, baby! Fly Navy!

Will one of you post the results here? My wife is out at sea and she is having internet issues and doesn’t know how to see the results. This is the only place I have access too.
message me the name and I can look for it when they drop. Don't want any one crying to me because I posted them not getting selected and only they know their own name on here

Curious, why you haven't opted to go the URLO ISPP route. That is a for sure ticket in the door for ya.

I just turned 32 this past December and the ISPP doesn’t allow for waivers. I wanna say it dropped in March so it was maddening to realize I missed the cut, but it is what it is. I’ll do things the old fashioned way.

That's a bummer, seeing as it is only an age waiver ?

Yeah man. But I’m also curious to see how the application process for them goes seeing how this is the first board for ISPP and how it affects other fleet applicants.

Same, it's not super clear as to how they're going to separate the selection. But we shall see
Per the PA if a ISPP candidates meets the PA they are in as long as there are spots available. The way I read it is that if there are 10 Y's to give, 5 are ISPP then they will come off the top and the remaining 5 will be available for anyone else (AD, Civ, etc)

That’s how I read it too, but I’m hoping they’re more critical than that and also take into account quality of application as well. An ISPP application meeting bare bones requirements over a carefully curated legacy OCS Application probably shouldn’t take priority but I suppose it’s all about what they’re looking for in applicants.
