23MAY2022 SNA/SNFO BOARD

I honestly do not remember the first CD I bought. It was too damn long ago. I think it was Speechless by Stephen Curtis Chapman. I’m relatively sure that was the very first one I bought myself vs someone buying for me. Linkin’ Park’s meteora and Hybrid Theory were also some of the first that I personally bought for myself.

I’m going to play dumb, what does this mean? We’re waiting for other selects to get OCS dates before they start working on our selects?
That’s what it seems like. Also, the selects from our board haven’t even begun getting placed and we won’t find out until they do. That is my interpretation, but I could be wrong haha

I read it as,
1. There's a lot of people from last year's boards that have had their OCS dates shuffled around a bunch, and they're trying to lock in a date for them.
2. Once they're able to lock in those dates, they'll actually be able to plan our dates.
3. I'm assuming that they already know a vague timeline for everyone, but are trying to get concrete dates for everyone.

This to me reads like they've had a lot of issues with scheduling recently and having dates move around on people and they're trying to fix that.

What was the first CD you owned? I remember having a bunch of cassettes and getting my first CD was a huge deal. Parents bought me Sum41: Does This Look Infected. Over the years, I added RHCP, OutKast, Kanye, Weezer, Fountains of Wayne, Lil Wayne, and all sorts. Let's get to 200!
I started collecting CDs when I was 10

Linkin Park - Meteora
Metallica - Ride the Lightning
KISS - Destroyer
Slayer - Reign in Blood (hidden from my parents)
Three 6 Mafia - When the Smoke Clears (hidden from my parents)

In futhurance of reaching 200 pages and venting my own separate frustrations as someone not on this board. I spoke to the local Air Force recruiters last November about scheduling an AFOQT around the same time as my ASTB so the studying I was doing would count for both of them. I wanted to have one so that I could look into applying for the ANG if Navy doesn't work out. They told me that since I didn't have the GPA they wanted thatbivwasnt a priority and they didn't have room for me. So after pushing for a couple of weeks I gave up. Well, they just sent me an email asking me to come take the test in a week. I haven’t studied for this crap since January so needless to say I am not prepared to sit for a test and I am quite annoyed that they think one week is enough notice. Guess that’s what you get from the Air Force though lol. I haven’t decided if I’m going to take it or not. On one hand you only get two lifetime attempts and I don’t wanna waste one by only having a week to study. On the other hand, I’m not getting any younger and it would probably take another 6+ months to get another test slot so maybe I should just say screw it and go take it.

One thing to note is I don’t believe any of the AD or ISPP selects on this board got an OCS date when they were notified of their selection. Once they start getting dates that should be indicative that results for the rest of us are coming soon, that is if they don’t find out from the pro-rec list getting dropped first.
