23MAY2022 SNA/SNFO BOARD

Furnace01

Applying SNA 31Oct2022
She might be but thats besides the point. Im hearing from AW scuttlebutt that boards are on hold currently as per my recruiter and now confirmed by other recruiters.
What would a board being on hold entail? Would that mean the board is cancelled or that they go through with selection, but don't give out OCS dates? Or something else?

Not sure about upcoming boards, but all I know is that everyone who already has a pro-rec Y has basically been told they're in limbo. I think there's something like 250 pilots waiting to go to OCS. Waiting has been the name of the game thus far, so I'd say wait even more until official word comes out.

My recruiter told us that the Oct board is still on, but no one will get an OCS date and no one at all will be shipping to OCS until further notice. So we’re all in limbo right now.
I feel like the people close to the age limit would still get a date

I'm close to the age limit and he told me he's dropping an age waiver application because they will not be shipping me in time if selected due to this. If you're right I'd be thrilled but it seems like it's all of us.

Yeah my recruiter just called me and basically reiterated this. He told me as of now they’re not sending anymore aviation selects to OCS for the remainder of the year. He said he won’t have more info for at least a few more weeks

That really isn't that bad, last year most of the aviation selects were sent prior to Dec 31st (not be design) so stuff can happen.

Just got a text message from my OR saying that the NRC is holding special boards (Intel, SWO, etc) for Pilot selectees who wish to redes at this time due to the Pilot back up problem.

My OR said this is NOT a way of him telling me to redes and is NOT mandatory. It is only for Pilot (FY24) selects who wish to go to OCS sooner.

However, he said that there are discussions being had about revoking offers if the pilot back up problem continues. Has this happened before?

It seems to me that NRC is realizing that selecting people for spots that far out is not the best idea.

There are several of those programs that are already sitting good with the number of people they have been selecting (except SWO) and many of the programs are pretty tough on who they pick with average GPA's of 3.5 and looking for tech degrees.

Yes, they have revoked offers before, it was quite a while ago and they sent out "no quota" letters.

This situation wouldn't be this bad if they had cancelled or combined boards starting at the end of last year when they realized they had selected too many.

It was astonishing to me that they continued to hold boards during Covid when no one was going anywhere. Us applicants were asking about the logic from the get-go. Now their solutions seem to be biting a lot of people in the butt.

The problem seemed to mainly occur when at the end of last year there was a goal reduction with a robust board selection, and no subsequent pumping of the brakes.

Wow If I get my pro rec y revoked that’d be pretty devastating … would much rather wait a year to go to OCS than not go at all

Was there any method they used to determine who gets their offers revoked first? Or was it mostly random?
