I may be mistaken here, but I believe I read a while back that for active duty and prior service, for each year they served NRC will knock off one year of age towards a program requirement such as age and TIS. Again, I may be confusing that with other programs.

That was the standard but it no longer states that in the PA, it could still be used as a guide though.

ima rant here for a bit, cuz my gf hates when I talk about it, and my Russian dog only cares about food and walks.....

but how the fuck is it that people apply to OCS, and we have seen that its quite a lengthy process from calling your recruiter to showing up at Newport....and they don't start getting ready physically or mentally for it..... like....it's one thing to apply for BUDS and drop out, but in general, the Navy PRT standards are quite low (at least the passing score is). It seems that many ppl still see commissioning as an officer in the armed forces as...."the sure thing" job related. I know this chick who graduated with a biology degree, telling me that if she doesn't find a job, her last option is to commission as an Air Force officer (good fucking luck with that)....where I'm trying to get at is....yes, being a pilot, nfo, swo, whatever, is great, is badass....but we are all going into leadership roles, we are all supposed to set an example for enlisted people, and if we are really serious about it, then we all should start acting like it.

this is not directed to anyone in specific, but I do think is worth mentioning....aight I'm out, lmk when results come out....night ladies

Do people really have a problem with the PRT? The satisfactory for a mile and a half is 13:45. That's like a 9 minute mile...

A lot of people I know get somewhat surprised when I tell them how much I train and the requirements I'm expected to meet on arrival to OCS. I think people are generally aware of the enlisted process, where you show up and they whip your ass into shape, regardless of how many pushups you can do (to a certain degree). My guess could be that some applicants expect that same leniency as an Officer Candidate, and therefore don't train hard enough.

Like...why would you put yourself through all this board anxiety odyssey, if when you get to OCS you gonna fail? You don’t have to be a specimen like @KaleDaSquid ....just reasonably fit, and a semi decent runner

I vaguely remember seeing it when the cutoff for aviation was 27 waiverable to 29 for prior or AD. I suppose once they raised the limit to 32 across the board they did away with that. Could be why they are still granting age waivers for some though… like myself.

Facts. The man is an absolute animal imo
He did take a new team that had a terrible season the year prior, and then a rocky start to the wild card game, won, then won their division, then beat the defending champs… again, with a new team… and even scored the first touchdown of the game with his old teammate who came out of retirement. Classic Brady

The best thing about getting older is that PRT requirements get easier. Going to OCS at 24 vs going in at 25 was really a big sigh of relief because the likely hood of me passing with an excellent performance is honesty more attainable ?
