Have any of y'all gotten a call about background check info? My recruiter tells me that I will get one before I ship out, but it I've yet to hear. I'm wondering if maybe they can't give a ship date until they have completed the background check process and spoken with me over the phone.

I filled out sf 86 stuff when the packet was submitted.

oooh I dunno about that, I havnt been contacted by an investigator. I know my current employer was, though

I cannot confirm, but I dont remember getting a background check(interview) done before I enlisted. The sf 86 was done and I have already had to renew it while enlisted, but my understanding is they only have you talk to an investigator if there are discrepancies or if they need clarification on things. Otherwise I feel like the background check should be done prior to submitting the package.

I filled out SF86 in May 2019 and have since gotten a pro- Y and not heard from any investigator. I believe you can get secret without an interview just depends on the circumstances/your history.

The investigator assigned to my background check had to call me to get clarification on a couple specific items and although I can't recall the exact wording I do remember him indicating that he only had to call me because of those specific items and that not everyone does a phone interview.

Also, my recruiter had anticipated that it might take a bit longer for them to process my background check since I've lived abroad a couple of times and had a relatively complicated work history, and I remember him saying that it did not matter if my background check was approved before the board met, only that I had completed and submitted it before the deadline.

Edit: As far as it being processed before getting a ship date...I remember my recruiter saying something about that but dont remember what lol.

I'm on the 3AUG20 board. I submitted my 86 back in March and only had my interview with my investigator just a few weeks ago.
