@Rtjenkins Yeah that's what I figured. 24-48 hours isn't even that long of a wait. My OR must've been in a pissy mood that day, but he wouldn't have been if we got the application sorted out earlier.

I’m currently debating which would be less anxiety inducing for the next 2 months: assuming I won’t get selected and having anxiety now with the bonus of being elated when I do end up selected, or assuming I will get selected and feeling great now with the downside of falling into existential dread when I don’t get selected lol

i was working with marines first as im prior enlisted. Then because my age was a factor i decided to try navy as well. Navy was fine working with me and i stopped working with the marine recruiter. Recently i started working with a different marine recruiter and as soon as my senior chief found out he was like well i dont know why we are helping you take the ASTB were not gonna pay for you to join another branch… I had to set up my own ASTB appointment, fly down from alaska to seattle get my own transportation and hotel room on my own dime and skip three days of work to retake the ASTB… and i just got word yesterday that my Marine recruiting district now has a no EPA policy for aviation, in otherwords i cant join the marines for aviation anyway due to age.

If it doesn't work out with the Navy, look into the Army, AF, and their Guard/Reserve counterparts. You'll still be within the age limits!

What does this mean? My USMC OSO has been really cool with me. I just need to get an age waiver (write an essay about how old I am), go to NAMI, and rock the PFT. I get along very well with this Captain, so I'm sure he would've let me know that they don't take old guys anymore.

Dude told me i ought to look at being an intel officer, im like… ill be a pilot. Damn it if top gun didnt come out this process would be a little smoother. I think recruiters are being overwhelmed by the amout of pilot applicants. Example: marines having so many applicants the have a no exception to age policy policy now.

I was told my district has a policy now because they have an abundance of eligeable prospects. They told me to call and try other districts

Anyone have any insight as to how much flight experience helps your packet? Since the last board I have logged about 16 hours and a solo flight. I know PFAR is more important.. Just wondering if anyone thinks flight experience can help get someone a pro rec y if they're on the bubble.
