31OCT22 SNA/SNFO BOARD

I was told something similar from my recruiting office that they are more likely to take a larger group since it's the first board for the next fiscal year. Is that not usually the tendency?
nope, officer recruiting is based on a yearly goal and in that yearly goal includes projections for the next year, that number is divided by the number of boards, that gives the amount per board.

If there hadn't been issues with over selecting they would have started to fill FY 23 back in March/April.

Example: Designator X has a goal of 400 shipped to OCS per year, they take that 400/4 boards to get 100 per board, then to account for drops they multiply by 1.5 to give 150 per board, they could potentially have 600 qualified to go to OCS so the extra get rolled over to the next FY and often the goals are about the same so the cycle continues.

So from what i can see they're pretty much shooting for that 150 number every board and it just goes slightly up and down depending on overselections or underselections from previous boards?

correct.

The numbers I used were just what I pulled out of thin air and only used because it made the math easy to see, they are not from any actual numbers for any designator.

Well, looks like I’m gonna be too old for the next board guys so this better work out for me. Gosh I say this every time but this forum gives me anxiety lol. I just can’t stand the idea of being stuck at Disney that much longer and having to get an age waiver to even have a chance.

It took me 1 day for my MEPS physical, no waivers or anything of the sort. Based on what I read on these forums, I may be an outlier, but that was my experience.
that's how meps is suppose to work, 1 day of processing to clear medical unless you require additional documents or a waiver.

I was scheduled to go to MEPS for a post Lasik checkup on Friday, then my OR called me to tell me he found out I've been working with the Marines.

"You might as well keep working with them... Honestly man, you're not competitive for the Navy. I doubt you'll get selected."

He says he would still work with me, but needs to wait for the liaisons to move files. What a guy.

When an applicant does paper work with another branch, it hinders the other branch of service to move forward with the applicant without having to spf the their record back to original branch. It usually takes 24 hours depending on the time of day the record was submitted. That's probably what he meant by "waiting for the liaisons to move the files."
