Are Naval aviators really away from home more than Air Force pilots?

There's always Diego Garcia AF deployments....that's always fun for the AF long-range bombers. I was there for a week in 1984 enroute to USS Enterprise, while it's a beautiful locale, I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

There's nothing to do except go to the gym/exercise, drink, watch movies, or anything else to eat time. OOF!

My friend was the JAG there. Island fever is a real thing. She had some interesting stories about how weird it was.

I keep seeing that letter from Bob Norris that says Air Force pilots will be home for most important family events but I don't see many posts that can verify that, especially post-Afghanistan. Where are Air Force pilots being deployed nowadays? Do they get a TDY to a cushy overseas base like some posts make it seem?
Go guard or reserve.

When I was a kid my dad, a naval aviator, took me to an air show on an AF base. Heading toward the ramp I noticed a golf course and asked, “Pop, how come they have a golf course?” He said something like “So people can golf.” and I noted “You golf but our base doesn’t have a golf course.” He then said…”We save the room on our bases for flying stuff because we are better aviators, they have golf courses because they are better golfers.”

"I want to serve but only if it works with my weekend schedule."🙄 FFS

Where you go depends on your airframe, rest assured we go to all the same garden spots as the Navy our runway just doesn't move.
You forgot to mention the pristinely manicured golf courses on every USAF base.

The best military course I've seen is in Port Hueneme. The Seabees use it as a training platform for doing Seabee things so they are constantly working and tinkering on it. It's a beautiful course.
