July Final Select SNA
Well I emailed him saying I heard a rumor of a 90 day requirement and for his opinion and asking to set up a MEPS date ASAP if its true.

So I will keep you posted. Although my OR is relatively new my processor has been doing this for 15+ years and he was the one who had me sign the MEPS Transfer of Service request papers so.. unless its a new rule I figure he would have known about it.

Are you sure you took the complete MEPS physical the first time with all the SNA/ Pilot tests such as colorblindness/depth perception/VALSALVA test? because unless you went through MEPS the first time with a pilot designation they would not have performed those 3 tests, as I was the only in the group who did those.

I read of alot of guys in Airwarriors who went to MEPS and or did their PFT before being Pro-Rec though and it seems that quite a few would barley make the 90 day window since the pro rec wait time is 30+ plus days. Thats what it would have been with me for the Marines.

I will have an answer hopefully tomorrow.

Let us know how this transpires. I am breaking out the big guns tomorrow. I am sick of this shit; NA or FO, I want to earn my wings. I could rant on further but I'll save the energy.

Don't forget your PRT is only good for 30 days. So if you take it now and don't ship for awhile you will have to take another.

Well if I have to re do it, I will certainly get better scores. I effed up the run and the push-ups.... I still got good scores, but could have done a lot better.... I will remind them of that of the PRT expiration tomorrow. They are telling me that they are pushing to get everything thing done.

Well I will certainly ask them about it tomorrow again, but it is not the actual physical, but one form that cannot be older than 90 days. It is the questionnaire the doctor asks you at MEPS. And yes I did all the test for depth/Color/Sight and passed the all with no problems.

Remember they might have done the form over again, but since they might have not had the time constraints that I have, it was not a biggie. For me it is a biggie since it cost me a week and a half. Since OOM is ONLY looking for a new signed form, I should be OK once they receive it. The OR is reassuring me that they are doing their best to get everything done.

I will keep my fingers crossed and think Victory, sometimes, is bitter-sweet and some of the things we want do not come easy. I will thank all those that are working with me to help me earn a spot at OCS, to then earn a spot as an SNA.

MEPS tomorrow!

Duck walk funtime show.

FLY NAVY!

haha the good ol duckwalk. Being flatfooted I didn't shine too brightly during this exercise. I passed it, but it was the hold your knee at 90 degrees and kick as hard down as you could that almost DQ'd me. Because my balance was awful they made me go see an othorpedic who waived me.

Good luck tomorrow! and remember as dumb as you're going to look in your skimpies and standing on one leg, the guy next to you is feeling just as rediculous. Oh...

P.S. make a wise crack after getting looked at by the doctor to some enlisted 18 year old like I did. Just tell em to grab his ankles and be ready when they tell you to bend over hahaha. Good times.

I feel for all you guys that are near the age limit, but i'm sure it will all work out in the end.

Just keep going and hopefully we'll all end up together and it'll work out the best for everyone. I had heard that your OCS graduation date has to somewhat fall in with your follow-on school. So that may be a reason too. I'm sure Big Navy knows all about you guys.

Keep the faith and here's to all of us getting a FS soon!

Oh and I said it 1000x but will say it again.

MEPS. F*CKING. BLOWS.

I am feeling it too! Hahaha! I will just keep doing what I am doing. Working, working out, having sex (12 weeks without it will be somewhat rough). Traveling and visiting friends.

I got my PRT scheduled for Monday, and then my waiting will begin as well. I'm basically going to tell my recruiter to utilize any access he has to get a class date ASAP!

Finished MEPS successfully and, to my chagrin, my OR asked if I wanted to do the PRT that afternoon.

I kicked ass and it's officially all back to the Navy for a FS. Only things pending are my LASIK, which was not a problem at MEPS, and my age.

I guess I just have to wait this one out and see what happens.

Also, according to Navy regs for aviation, NA/FO evidently maintain the same age restrictions meaning that 27 is the cut off. However, a waiver is available for OCS candidates (during the aviation physical conducted in Newport), but it appears to be at the disgression of NAVAIR.

I also called NOMI and had a weird conversation but, I was told, that during that OCS/Aviation physical in the final weeks, anyone with LASIK would be sent to Wave screening to become fully qualified for the LASIK in Aviation study.

I am going to follow up for additional clarification but this is what I tentatively received.
